Today we’d like to introduce you to Charita Davis.
Hi Charita, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started lashing in 2017 as a side hustle but in 2018 I became certified to do lash extensions I kept doing lashing as a side hustle until one day I decided I wanted to take it to the next level, so I decided to go to college in august of 2020 to become a Esthetician. I graduated college at Ogeechee Tech in Statesboro Ga May 2021, I became the first black Esthetician in my town that day. That same year In November I opened my store front salon, it was my childhood home that I remodeled and turned into my salon. My journey wasn’t easy at all but I definitely overcame soo many obstacles.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been smooth at all, life happens, you have slow days, weeks and even sometimes months. But I never gave up not one time I just continued to push forward.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
So I’m a Licensed Esthetician through the state of Georgia, I specialize in lash extensions. But I also do facials, waxing and many other services. I’m mostly proud of myself for just getting up and doing what needs to be done I literally work so hard so I just pay myself on the back for that because a lot of people don’t have the mindset. I think what sets me apart from others is I’m different andi mean that by I don’t mind taking a risk even if i may not succeed I still go for it. And I don’t follow the crowd I do everything on my own and for me.
How do you think about happiness?
My husband makes me happy he’s amazing, and my kids. My baby boy Jr lights up my day everyday he’s the last one and he just melts my heart my other kids are grown but they bring so much joy to me.
