Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Weinberger.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Grew up and graduated in Screven County attended Voorhees College now Voorhees University in South Carolina. Worked pretty much all my life from the age of 13 during college made a couple of mistakes ended up doing some time in prison shortly after being released after having a conversation with my wife about my direction in life, she recommended that I look into tattooing starting an apprenticeship at a small street shop after getting my start there left and went to a newer shop that had opened up downtown Statesboro called velvet Rose. That’s when I really got my start into my tattooing career. I started traveling and going to tattoo conventions to learn more and hold my craft after a year at velvet Rose. I left and opened new era ink tattoo studio in 2016. We started out behind to get Tech in a very small office building and since then have grown and moved to 721 South Main St. Suite 7 across from campus and for the last four years have been voted best Tattoo shop in Georgia. I personally have been voted best tattoo artist in Statesboro for several years and on and off best tattoo shop in Statesboro I have three children Aaliyah diesel in Paris ages 16 nine and 12. I am supported by my beautiful wife, Brittney, and oh a lot of my success to her since then tattooing has helped take me to places. I never thought I’d be tattooed and represented myself my Shop and country in London Bahamas, and all over the US winning awards. In many states I specialize in realism, both black and grey and color. I have Artist in my shop who specialize in a multitude of styles.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth ride in 2009 I was sent to prison had to endure a lot of hardships, including being away from my family at the shop our Apprentice that it was an extremely rough apprenticeship with lots of growing pains and at time unnecessary evil when I opened my shop I was not ready, and the learning curve was extremely steep. There was a lot of hard lessons that I had to learn firsthand, but I feel even though the journey was extremely tough. It’s been absolutely worth it. Lost my best friend a couple of years after we opened and it gave me an extreme perspective about how short life can be and how important it is to take each and every opportunity given and to never take that for granted..
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in realism and hyper realism both black and gray and color. My favorite subject matter to do is portraits the more personal than better. I’m proud of each piece that I put out because a person decided and thought enough of me to allow me to give them something that lasts forever on their bodies forever What sets me apart from everyone else is that I genuinely have a love for what I do and where it’s taking me our area is traditionally known as a traditional style of tattooing, and I brought a high-level of professionalism and realism that my area hasn’t seen I’m also one of the few Shop owners and Artist that travel all over the world to gain knowledge experience And bring it back to our small town
Any big plans?
My plans for the future are to expand now that new era is running with great artist and great leadership by itself. I can now move forward and start opening another shop which will be located in Macon. The overall plan is to own five shops in different locations so that it gives myself and my artist opportunities for growth and movement. Always say that I want to be put in a position to help others.
