Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamilah Kamaat.

Hi Kamilah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story goes back into my childhood. Although there was love present there was a lot of pain that initiated me into the early stages and inheritance of trauma. At school I was bullied, at home, I was molested. I somehow mastered a way to mask it all until one day I just couldn’t do it anymore. I was 13, hurt, disappointed, and mentally suicidal. I could’ve ended it all one way but I decided to ask for help through prayer. When I couldn’t take the pain I requested to be delivered from the abuse in exchange for my submittance to God. At 13 I learned the power of prayer. Within 3 days a classmate that I confided into shared what I was going through with another classmate. Then that classmate told a teacher and that landed me in a counselors office being questioned by authorities. I was taken out of that home on that day and placed into Greenbriar’s children’s home.

During my court hearing, the judge awarded me the clearance of returning to my adoptive mother whose home I was removed from out of spite. That’s when my healing journey began. Before it could be beautiful it was a long dark road. I had never received therapy for what I had just experienced for the last 7 years of my life.

From that point, I had to find my own way back to me. Years fast forward at 24 I began to receive the call that it was time to turn away from my path of destruction and into the path of my destiny. It was like hearing God, Spirit or however one would reference the voice of benevolence directly speaking clearly to me. After that, I began to deepen my prayers, my meditation, and I became studious. I isolated myself from a lot of activities to focus on where I felt I was being called to. In the midst of my prayers I summoned purpose, I asked to be used, I asked for my gifts to be revealed and for my voice to speak boldly and with authority. I got everything I asked for. In receiving all these fruits of the Spirit I began to attract many who had an interest in my school of spirituality. That landed me in the position of being a spiritual teacher and advisor by way of my own healing journey.

Many had watched me for years viewing my transformation via social media. It inspired them to see and know what I had overcome with graceful perseverance in reflection to my authenticity and vulnerability. This opened the way for me to begin a ministry with working with women to assist with their own healing and spiritual journey from 2010 until the present day. I have a space that I erected in 2017 called Sankofa House Savannah a “Lighthouse for Community Healing”. I have received many certifications for Ministry, Kemetic Reiki Healing, Yoga Teacher Training, Life Coaching and more. Within this space, I offer services, products, events, retreats, healing circles, etc. I have guests who traveled from all over the world to come and experience this safe space that has been curated as a replica of what “HOME” feels like on a deeper level. I consider it the unplug from the matrix and I feature as the Oracle.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a rocky road but once you see things for what they are the rocks become predictably inevitable. So the question then becomes, “what will you do about it”? As I always share I’ve had a rocky road since I got to this planet and I say that in humor, but it’s true.

One of my biggest struggles was being molested by my own father and having a long journey finding my way back to my own self worth. So in reflection to this, I’ve had major life lessons but growth spurts in my relationships. I had to learn how to be in a relationship with myself to know how to be with others and setting boundaries on how they are with me.

In the work I do with women because there’s so much repressed trauma sometimes I experience the shadow side in having to be open arms to sisters who could potentially place me in the position of blame for emotions and illusions not yet resolved or confronted in peace. Nevertheless, I’ve been put in a position to be able to take it because through the surface of the emotions I know their hearts, I hear their spirits cry out louder than their tantrums. So simply my response is to operate in unconditional love and understanding.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Sankofa House Savannah is a safe and sacred haven created with intentions to restore, revive and resurrect the community back to the vibrations of health, wellness & wholeness of mind, body & spirit. There has been a long need for alternative help in our community starting with LOVE of Self and love for each other. It is only through love that we can truly heal on all levels. With Love, we can then build in TRUTH by knowing who we are and standing in that truth together because we NEED each other now more than ever.

Many are called to Sankofa House out of Spirit, dreams they’ve had, for services, products, events or plan ole’ curiosity (and even that has the sound CURE in it). No matter what attracts someone to Sankofa House everyone will always be received with open arms and be provided with what is needed. We guarantee that it will never be what you expect that it will be. It is definitely a deeper level of experience.

Sankofa House is often referred to as Home, a Retreat Space, the Temple, The Mothership, or The Unplug from the Matrix.

I specialize in Kemetic Reiki Healing, Womb Reiki Healing, Spiritual Life Coaching, Cleansing Ceremonies, Retreats, Monthly Women’s Healing Circles, Weekly Virtual Group Life Coaching, Oracle Readings, Sound Healing, Plant Medicine, Guided Meditation, Soul Flow Yoga, Spiritual Foot Baths, Couples Sessions, and The MENistry which includes services for men. I also travel to other cities at request to provide service for individuals and groups.

I’m known for everything that I’ve shared so far. My personal journey and assisting others in theirs.

Another side note that I’m known for is my gift of prophecy. I’ve been known to see things before they happen. So a lot of times I can provide warning and awareness of something to come. Many refer to me as the fertility goddess because I’ve got people pregnant, or at least that’s what they say. Pregnant by vision, by services and or by a special product that I create called Oshun Scrub. Oshun is the Goddess of Love, Wealth and Fertility.. Due to this gift of fertility it placed me in the role of being a Doula for some of the Sisters in my community. I’ve lost count on how many I’ve predicted. I’ve had those predictions since high school. So yes I’m known for my gift of knowing, my wisdom and my magic.

Products that I have top seller is the Oshun Scrub which is a spiritual bath activated through prayer and affirmation.

Another top seller, Mami Wata which is an Aura Cleansing Spray that I created to be a travel size protectant and covering.

I also sell other spiritual tools like sage, incense, candles, oils, soaps, etc.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is creating community.

Creating community matters most to me because in the separation of community we have more disaster, destruction and despair. I believe in erecting community so that we can come together, help and assist each other, provide resource and safe space for one another. Much of humanity has lost its way, lost direction, lost its hearts and by way of that truly lost the foundations of love and themselves. Many are hurting, many are afraid, many feel alone, many feel unheard, many feel like failures, many feel lost. This would not be the case had our society been built for the people rather than for power over the people. So I’m here to create and curate a bridge, a healthy and healing medium in the midst of this world that is full of famine, chaos, confusion and illusion.
