Check Out Katherine Morse’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Morse.

Hi Katherine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In the summer of 2028, I was laid off twice in three months and had begun a Master of Science in Digital Marketing. With the help of friends and family, I founded Vixen Creative Marketing, LLC, to utilize my creative talents and digital expertise to support the growth of small businesses. I had worked in social media marketing for a nonprofit and a corporation based in Jacksonville, Florida.

I have a unique perspective on consumer behavior, having earned a BA in anthropology from Sweet Briar College and a BS in psychology with a concentration in human services from the College of Coastal Georgia. Plus an MS in marketing with a digital marketing concentration from Southern New Hampshire University, which I earned in June 2020. Then, you add my experience in education, combined with an MAT in Special Education, P-12 General Curriculum, which gives me a more nuanced perspective on families today.

In April 2019, I founded Vixen Creative Marketing, LLC, to help small businesses grow their social media presence and retain customers. As the name suggests, Vixens are known for their slyness, and I leverage that to think outside the box and find solutions that may not be immediately visible to an outsider. With a creative approach that draws on my background in photography and art, particularly in mixed media, I help businesses connect with their target market through engaging storytelling and content creation.

Katherine’s work experience spans a variety of industries, including education, environmentalism, Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, archaeology, medicine, real estate, tourism, food and beverage, and hospitality. Her education in anthropology and psychology has honed her research skills and understanding of consumer behaviorism, making her detail-oriented and adept at social listening.

If you’re looking to grow your social community and connect with your target market, the ability to be flexible and even be willing to trade services makes working with clients very rewarding.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing in life is a smooth road. There have been challenges, including the COVID-19 Pandemic, during which I worked for a few clients for little to no pay in order to keep them socially relevant on social media. I am a one-woman show that helps small, locally owned businesses reach their audiences. Since the business is small, I also work as a full-time special education teacher during the school year. Both are rewarding careers with their own unique challenges, making the work worthwhile despite the effort and time required.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I began with art as a young child, influenced by my godmother, Anne. When I attended Oldfields School in Sparks-Glencoe, MD, I took a photography course under Rober Creamer, a professional photographer. That one course sparked a love and passion that translates into my digital marketing for my clients. The understanding I have for both traditional film and Pollard transfers, to the digital format and even AI, allows me to be creative in multiple ways, including using some of my own works to create new ones for social media posts for my clients.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe the most important qualities for my success with Vixen Creative Marketing are my creativity and ability to think outside the box. I love finding unique ways to connect businesses with their audience, whether that’s through storytelling, design, or social media strategy. My background in anthropology, psychology, and marketing provides me with a unique perspective on how people think and what motivates them, which enables me to create content that feels authentic and engaging. At the heart of it, I genuinely care about helping small businesses grow, and that passion drives everything I do.
