Hi Kayla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After graduating from cosmetology school, I originally planned to focus on hair, but once I started working in salons, I realized it wasn’t truly where my passion was. During school, I always enjoyed waxing even though we didn’t dive deeply into full-body waxing at the time.
That curiosity led me to work for a popular national wax chain, where I gained hands-on experience and fell in love with the art of body waxing. I enjoyed helping people feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. Over time, I knew I wanted to create my own space that reflected my personality and offered a more personal, welcoming experience , that’s how Wax Doll was born.
What started as a learning experience quickly became my calling, and through faith, consistency, and a lot of growth, I’ve built a business centered around comfort, education, and self-care.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, I’d have to say that starting a business has been such a beautiful experience, but it definitely hasn’t been without its challenges. Stepping out on your own takes courage , there’s so much to learn, and a lot of it you figure out as you go.
In the beginning, I had to learn how to balance everything , from managing clients and finances to marketing and staying consistent even when business was slow. There were moments of doubt and times I questioned if I was doing the right thing, but those challenges helped me grow both personally and professionally.
Every obstacle taught me something new about perseverance, faith, and trusting the process. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything because it shaped me into the woman I am today. I’m grateful for my support system I have. My family/ friends and husband who’s always been supportive of me .

At Wax Doll , I specialize in Brazilian and full-body waxing with a focus on creating a comfortable and judgment-free experience for every client. I take pride in making each person feel confident and cared for , not just through the service itself, but through the environment I’ve created.
What sets me apart is my ability to make clients feel at ease from the moment they walk in. I understand that waxing can be an intimate service, so I focus on building trust and educating my clients about proper aftercare and skin health. My goal is to make everyone feel seen, understood, and beautiful in their own skin.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built and the confidence my clients gain after each visit. Wax Doll isn’t just about waxing it’s about empowerment, education, and self-love.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Right now, my main focus is on continuing to build and strengthen my business. The beauty and waxing industry is constantly evolving, and I believe we’ll continue to see a shift toward education, inclusivity, and creating more personalized client experiences.
Over the next few years, I see more professionals stepping into entrepreneurship, building brands that truly reflect who they are and the clients they serve. For me, I’m trusting the process and allowing time, growth, and experience to shape what’s next for Wax Doll Studio , only time will tell how far it can go.
