Check Out Kenneth Mayo’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenneth Mayo.

Hi Kenneth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I bought my first camera in 2016 before I moved to Hawaii as my Marine Corps duty station for the next four years. I bought the camera knowing I’d be in a beautiful place and that I’d want to capture as much of it as I can. I started out with strict landscape and scenery shots around the island.

Once I bought a car and made my way into the car scene of Hawaii I progressed into shooting photos of cars, which led to models, which led to couples and families and is now making its way into wedding photography. My first few photoshoots were just with friends but with all the positive feedback I was getting from social media posts, I decided to expand and start making it into a side business, and now it is my main focus.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been ups and downs like any other job but nothing I can’t handle.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently specialize in portrait photography for individuals, couples, and families. I like to think I am known for my use of vibrant colors in a realistic manner. I am most proud of how far my quality has come since the beginning.

I also take pride in the fact that so many people I work with can’t express enough how much more fun and more alive their experience was with me compared to other photographers.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I would love to push more into weddings and studio photography. I am currently in the process of opening up a studio in the low country to better serve the community’s photography needs
