Today we’d like to introduce you to Lilly Gaskin.
Lilly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My love for flowers began in 10th grade through an FFA project that required volunteer hours in floral design. What started as a school assignment quickly became a passion. After completing my required hours, I continued working after school and on weekends at the flower shop, learning the art of floral design along with the ins and outs of running a small business.
In 2015, I launched my own business, focusing exclusively on weddings and events. Then in January 2026, we expanded and launched our website as a full service flower shop – now proudly offering daily deliveries, sympathy arrangements, plants, and everything in between.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I started my business with no formal education just the hands-on knowledge and experience I gained from working in the floral industry. I learned through doing, through trial and error, and threw a lot of faith and determination. Then Covid hit bringing uncertainty, canceled events and challenges no small business could have ever fully been prepared for. It tested everything creatively, financially, mentally, and emotionally. On top of that, I’ve been raising three children while building this business. Being a mother of three and running a small business at the same time is one of the greatest blessings, but also one of the biggest challenges, balancing school schedules, family life, and the demands of entrepreneurship requires constant flexibility and sacrifice, but every obstacle has shaped the business into what it is today. The struggles built strength, sharpened my skills and deepened my gratitude for the journey.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in meaningful funeral work, wedding and event florals, and helping customers express emotions when words are hard to find. I’m especially passionate about creating designs that feel personal. Whether it’s incorporating your grandmothers necklace into your wedding bouquet or matching flowers to a prom dress, the details matter to me.
I’m most proud of building a flower shop while raising three children through a season that tested everything – the death of my mother. I’m incredibly proud of the relationships this business has allowed me to build. I’ve watched customers get married, welcome babies, celebrate anniversaries, and later walk through the grief of losing someone they love. I’ve hard the honor of designing for different chapters of their lives. That kind of trust is something I’ll never take lightly.
I couldn’t have done any of this without my husband and my families constant support. Behind every early morning, late night, holiday, rush, and big decision they’ve been steady, encouraging and willing to step in when needed. This business may be mine, but it’s been built with their support every step of the way. I’m proud of my shop runs on faith and hard work.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Having a creative outlet where I can simply create – where I can design, focus on the flowers in my hands, and let everything else quiet down – that brings me joy. There’s something about turning nothing into something without overthinking, just creating from the heart.
Being able to balance motherhood and still be creative makes me happy.
