Hi Lindsey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Art began as a side gig I did in my free time for fun, and overtime as turned into a full-time career!!!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest struggle for my business has just been life. Since I’ve begun doing art professionally, I’ve purchased two homes, moved states, had two children, and just learning to balance life with your passion has been a journey in itself.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
While I do paint almost anything that can be painted, I would say my main focus is live wedding painting and mural art! Live wedding painting has really gained popularity over the past couple of years, and I have had an absolute blast meeting so many amazing couples who trust me to capture their special day!!! When I’m not partying with my brides on the weekends you can find me painting murals around town. So far, I’ve painted at local schools, libraries, animal shelters, nursing homes, coffee shops, stores, and so many homes!!!
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that always surprises people is that I never attended an art school. I originally went to school to pursue my passion for Zoology and worked in the education department of the Jacksonville Zoo. Art was always something I just did as a passion project. I never imagined it would turn into my full-time gig!!! There definitely would have been some benefits and a lot less trial and error if I had attended some formal training, but I love the idea that if you work hard enough and love what you do, you can do anything!
