Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Morey.
Mike, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got into the business about 25 years ago by buying and scrapping gold. The more I bought, the more I seen amazing and beautiful jewelry get scrapped as well as seeing people reluctantly handing over barely broken pieces of jewelry because they didn’t want to wear “broken” jewelry. I related to all of these instances as I had been in the same boat many times. I started offering the people an alternative to scrapping. Creating. Creating new and exciting pieces out of the old jewelry that they were tired of. And I’ve been creating ever since.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road. There have been many hangups but with that said God always made a way. It seems I’m right where I’m supposed to be. I could have never done this alone.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a created. I create high end luxury jewelry pieces that last a lifetime. Making customers smile is my specialty. When they see their brand new piece the look and the smile is always worth it. It’s an Amazing feeling making people that happy. And that is also what I am most proud of and it sets me apart from most in my profession. For me it’s all about the smiles. That’s why I chose to do this during my retirement. And it’s been great so far.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
There are many choices out there in jewelers and or designers like myself, but none of them will bring you the kind of craftsmanship that I will. A blend of old school goldsmithing and new school jewelry designs. You will never go wrong with Goldsmiths. Give us a call.
