Today, we’d like to introduce you to Mike Vavasis.
Hi Mike, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Back in ‘21, I got an offer to tryout for the Bananas and Party Animals. Had no idea what I was getting into until I was signed. I felt at home. Between the dancing and entertainment, I was mind-blown.
I grew up in a dance studio and musical environment since my mom owned and operated a studio. I loved competing in tap dancing when I was young, and then my mom signed me up for baseball at 10y/o, and I fell in love. Never wanted to be off the field and put performing on the back burner.
Never did I think I could do both and have fans enjoy and love what I do! Being a part of the bananas and Party animals is a dream come true. The company, staff, and players are some of the most genuine people I’ve ever met,
We’re here to bring smiles and make people happy. That’s always been my goal in life.
Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Baseball has been a battle my whole life. Lots of broken promises and a lack of help. I had to do a lot on my own. From Indy ball for a year to signing with the Phillies and becoming a bullpen coach for them. Once COVID hit, I thought I was done with baseball forever, but I was blessed to have this opportunity.
Before being full-time, I’d drive back and forth every weekend from Tampa, where I used to live, just so I could be part of and stay in the organization. I was also the Head Coach of a local high school near Tampa for seven years, so working around my schedule was insane. But I’d do anything for this organization.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I was a teacher for seven years prior, working with Special needs children, PE, and 9th grade Health. Now, I am the head coach of the Party Animals!
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting?
Chase your dreams. It might not be the path you want or ever thought it would be, but if you can see your end goal, go get it!
