Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Hicks.
Hi Alyssa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I first started doing hair in 4th grade with natural hair services. In 7th grade, I began braiding. I became a licensed cosmetologist in 2014. Over the years I’ve built clientele in multiple locations. Today, I have my own salon in Hinesville, Ga.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been smooth for the most part with some trial and error. I like to have a basic plan of how I want things to go, but I’m pretty good with adjusting so things don’t seem like too much of an inconvenience when it’s not exactly as planned.
As you know, we’re big fans of I Am Embellish Hair Salon and Beauty Bar. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Our salon is a full service hair salon specializing in natural hair, locs, braids, wigs, and sew ins. We take appointments as well as walk-ins. We provide everything for the appointments all you have to do is show up. Hair is included in braid services, and shampoo services are available.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is my family. Everything I do, is for them.
