Community Highlights: Meet Anthony Sciarratta of Sciarratta Public Relations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Sciarratta.

Anthony, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve spent the last four years building Sciarratta Public Relations with a simple belief: today, the most powerful form of public relations is social media. Content, design, and digital presence shape how people see a brand long before any press hit ever could. I help brands clarify their voice, tighten their message, and show up online in a way that feels real and true to who they are.

I’ve been a writer and author for over a decade, and that background shapes everything I do. The story always comes first. Whether I’m developing short-form social content, producing long-form video, or building out a marketing campaign, I focus on narrative—where a brand comes from, what it stands for, and why anyone should care. That approach has helped everyone from small, local businesses to established brands grow their presence and reach new audiences without losing what makes them authentic.

That same mindset led me to create Mangia Cibo Culinary Lab, a film-ready kitchen studio and creative event space in Queens. It’s a physical extension of the work I was already doing. I created a place where chefs, brands, and creators can cook, film, host, and collaborate under one roof. At its core, Mangia Cibo is about bringing people together around food, culture, and content, and turning everyday moments into something lasting.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. The first thing I learned the hard way is that when you’re self-employed, nothing goes the way you plan, and there’s a beauty to that. In a way, I get a rush from not knowing what my day is going to bring, but at the same time, there’s the anxiety of uncertainty about what could happen next.

I quit my job in January 2022 to start the new year, not knowing where my next paycheck would come from. All I had was the idea for my business, and I ran with it. My first client was Fortunato Brothers Bakery, and at the time I was living over an hour away from them, my first and only client. As the business grew, the travel started to take a toll. I was out the entire day, morning to night, alongside my friend Gregory Heinrich, who was working pro bono at the time.

It forced me to move for the business to succeed. Looking back, I don’t regret it, but it was tough at the time trying to juggle everything while also trying to grow and make a living.

Thanks, so what else should our readers know about Sciarratta Public Relations?
Sciarratta Public Relations is not a traditional public relations firm. We believe social media has become the most powerful and modern form of public relations, where brand perception is shaped in real time through content, design, and digital presence.

At SPR, public relations extends far beyond press coverage. It lives in the way a brand looks, sounds, and shows up online. From content creation and page aesthetics to cover imagery, e-commerce support, and platform strategy, we help businesses control their narrative and connect with their audience authentically.

SPR is more than a service, it’s a brand and a growing creative network. When you work with us, you’re not just hiring an agency, you’re becoming part of a network made up of creators, collaborators, businesses, and partners aligned around thoughtful storytelling and long-term growth.

We work with brands at every level, offering strategic guidance, creative execution, and hands-on support tailored to each client’s goals. Our approach is collaborative, practical, and rooted in storytelling.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories was spending time at my grandfather’s pizzeria, Tony’s in Forest Hills. As a kid, I always wanted to own my own business and be an entrepreneur, but I never figured out how until I fell into it. Now I’m doing what I love more than anything.

I remember running around the pizzeria, throwing dough against the wall just to keep myself entertained. To this day, I wish I had the chance to see it in all its glory again. When I work with clients, I usually tell stories based on memories like that.
