Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashawna Lane.
Hi Ashawna, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started with an offer to relocate from California to Georgia. I accepted the offer with no real idea of what to expect or how things were going to go. Although afraid and unsure- I took the chance and believed that things would work out for me. Since the move, it has been quite the journey learning how to adjust to my new life. From starting my own consulting company to becoming a full time entrepreneur, my life has completely changed over the past 18+ months. I’ve been able to network with some of the most amazing entrepreneurs the city has to offer while growing into my new surroundings. My life has changed for the better and I owe it all to taking a chance on something I believed in.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road is never smooth but it also hasn’t been extremely difficult either. I’ve been able to navigate myself through some pretty rough patches and find my way. A few of the struggles I’ve faced have been learning how to manage and maintain life as a full time entrepreneur in an ever-changing world. I don’t have the comfort and security of a job or a paycheck to depend on every couple of weeks which has led me to work twice as hard just to make sure my needs are met. It’s an uncomfortable position to be in but it’s also where the most growth in my life has taken place so I’m grateful for the strength and determination to continue on this path. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The M.U.S.E Project is an initiative dedicated to cultivating entrepreneurship in youth and adults in under-served communities. The goal is to create a pool of sustainable resources that will allow people the opportunity to learn about the core benefits of entrepreneurship while having access to funds, educational programs, mentorship and support.
I specialize in assisting entrepreneurs to form their businesses. What sets me apart is that I actually live what I teach. I lead by example and all the things I share I’ve actually been through. My position in the company is to make sure that I show others how to avoid the mishaps, setbacks and roadblocks that are often experienced when going into business for yourself.
Brand wise, I’m most proud of having the opportunity to put my company in front of not only potential clients, but sponsors, donors and collaborators as well. The M.U.S.E. Project is always looking to work with investors and educational institutions to help secure access to curriculum and capital.
I want your readers to know that The M.U.S.E Protect is a full service consultative company. The purpose is to help people with the proper paperwork, guidelines and resources needed in order to establish themselves as business owners within their respective states.
What makes you happy?
Accomplishing my goals makes me happy. Knowing that I am capable of achieving or acquiring whatever I put my mind to overwhelms me with a sense of pride and fulfillment. It further lets me know that we are all capable of achieving our greatest dreams if only we have the courage to go after them.
