Community Highlights: Meet Laura Robinson of Southern Grace Stays

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Robinson.

Hi Laura, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Southern Grace Stays was born from a shared passion for hospitality, home design, and the charming city of Savannah. After years of traveling the world and staying in unique rentals, we realized what a difference thoughtful touches, beautiful design, and warm service can make in a guest’s experience. With Laura’s background in interior design and Andy’s love for restoring homes, we began transforming properties into welcoming spaces where guests could truly relax and feel at home.

What started with one lovingly renovated rental quickly turned into a full-scale management company built on trust, Southern hospitality, and attention to detail. Today, Southern Grace Stays manages a growing portfolio of beautiful homes across Savannah and the surrounding areas. We treat each property like our own and every guest like family—ensuring memorable stays and worry-free ownership.

From cozy cottages to elegant townhomes, our mission remains the same: to blend historic charm with modern comforts and deliver exceptional stays infused with Southern grace.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most small business journeys, ours comes with its fair share of challenges. We are constantly learning and adapting. In the early days, the two of us juggled everything—renovations, guest communication, cleaning coordination, and more—often all at once. There are late-night maintenance calls, tricky bookings, and times when things don’t go as planned.

One of our biggest hurdles is learning how to grow without losing the personal touch we pride ourselves on. As we take on more properties and build our team, we work hard to put the right systems in place and find people who share our heart for hospitality. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.

Every challenge teaches us something new, and we’re better for it. We stay committed to offering warm, welcoming spaces for our guests and peace of mind for the homeowners we partner with. And through it all, we stay grounded in the values that started it all: honesty, care, and a deep love for Southern charm.

As you know, we’re big fans of Southern Grace Stays. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Laura draws from 25 years of experience in corporate retail and hospitality design. With a degree in interior design, she knows how to create stylish, functional spaces that guests remember—and that deliver real results for owners. Her attention to detail, budget discipline, and creative vision guide the aesthetic of each home in our portfolio.

Andy brings a background in public service, a business degree, and a steady hand when it comes to managing projects and people. After 25 years of service, he now applies his renovation skills and calm, solution-oriented mindset to the world of short-term rentals. He’s hands-on, reliable, and excellent at managing whatever challenges come our way.

We’re known for our Southern hospitality, beautifully curated interiors, and hands-on, responsive management. What we’re most proud of is the trust we build—with guests who feel cared for and with owners who know their homes are in good hands.

What sets us apart? We don’t just manage homes—we create experiences. We blend hospitality, design, and strategy to deliver both joy and results.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Laura has loved travel and explore new places since she was a child. Her passion for design started early, and so did her entrepreneurial spirit—at just 12 years old, she began selling string beans from her grandparents’ farm. That drive has never left her. With a degree in interior design and decades of experience in corporate retail and hospitality design, she now channels that same energy into creating beautiful spaces and meaningful guest experiences. Laura is known for her vision, her tireless work ethic, and her generosity in helping others succeed.

Andy grew up watching his dad run a small business and his grandfather serve as a deputy sheriff—two men who shaped his values and left a lasting impression. He carries their legacy of integrity, discipline, and community into everything he does. With a business degree and a long career in public service behind him, Andy brings calm leadership, renovation know-how, and a talent for handling challenges with grace.

We believe in strong families and close-knit communities. That’s why we run Southern Grace Stays like a family—because to us, it is one. Whether it’s a homeowner trusting us with their property or a guest staying for the first time, our goal is t
