Community Highlights: Meet Logan Thibodeaux of Loxx Beauty Shoppe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan Thibodeaux.

Hi Logan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My interest in cosmetology started at a very young age. My mother was actually a cosmetologist and had her own salon. I remember the days, especially Saturdays where I sat in the salon and just watched my mama with genuine talent. So fast forward 20 years later and I am now walking in her footsteps.

I was actually going to school for dental hygiene and actually worked in a dental office and quickly realized that it was not for me, neither was school.

After high school, My best friend at the time was going to hair school. I told myself that this could always be a backup plan so I enrolled in hair school when I was 19.

I hated hair school and I just wanted it to be over.

I graduated and started at my first salon job as a stylist in Columbus, ga. I loved the industry. Everything always changing everyday. My first salon actually put a bad image on the salon life so I quit. Everyone told me I needed to go get “a real job” and that I was not going to make it in the hair industry.. I moved back to my hometown 7 years ago and started another salon. The girls I worked with were so talented and pushed everyone to be better. The money was not good which frustrated me so much. I wanted to quit and I did become a waitress and quickly realized that I missed hair and the salon. I took a leap of faith went out on my own and now the sky is the limit. I decided 2 years ago to join sola salon studios in pooler, and I’ve never been happier. “Never let fear hold you back!”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the road has been a very bumpy ride. My obstacles were the people around me that I needed support from who didn’t support me. I ignored and followed my heart and dreams.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a master cosmetologist. I specialize in blondes, balayage, and dimensional colors. I also offer hand-tied extensions.

My passion for the hair industry and my drive to succeed set me apart from others. I also have a natural talent and the proof is in the pudding! I have a very outgoing and bubbly personality that I let shine daily. Smile, breathe, and follow your heart.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Big big changes are on the rise for the beauty industry. Change is happening and old trends are being made new. Things that were once considered weird or ugly is now HOT. (Like mom jeans.) Staying on top of social media is the best way to find the hottest trends!
