Hi Marsha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the world of jewelry and home decor design was surprising and unexpected. It was filled with twists and turns, that eventually led to the creation of Heavenly Beads & More.
With the name in my heart and a spark of curiosity, I embarked on a journey into jewelry design. Armed with determination and a zeal for knowledge, I began researching and learning everything I could about this art form. Every lesson and technique was learned through trial and error.
The moment finally arrived when I completed my first piece of jewelry. The sense of accomplishment that washed over me was unlike anything I had ever experienced. It was a mixture of excitement and pure joy, and in that moment, I knew I had found my true calling.
A year later, I took a leap of faith and officially launched Heavenly Beads & More. The journey from that point forward has been nothing short of exhilarating. Designing jewelry and later adding home decor, while continuously learning new techniques, became a source of endless fascination and inspiration.
What keeps me on the edge of my seat every day is the process of transforming a simple thought into a tangible work of art. The thrill of creating something extraordinary that didn’t exist before is the driving force behind my passion. This excitement fuels my creativity and motivates me to explore new horizons.
My story is a testament to the idea that sometimes our true passions and callings find us when we least expect them. Heavenly Beads & More is not just a business but a manifestation of a lifelong love for fashion, style, and the art of creation. With each piece of jewelry and home decor I create, I aim to share a little piece of heaven and look forward to what the future holds for this creative journey.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any business journey, mine has had both smooth and bumpy roads. As a self-taught artisan, I faced a steep learning curve, and the process was often frustrating. However, the rewarding end results kept me going. Initially, I had limited business knowledge, which made running my own company quite challenging. In the fields of business and jewelry and home decor design, things are always evolving. This constant change means I’m continually learning and always ready to tackle the next challenge.

Heavenly Beads & More is an online jewelry & home decor boutique specializing in one-of-a-kind soulful art for the body and home. One of our proudest moments as a company was being contracted to design a gift for the renowned American novelist and Pulitzer Prize winner, Alice Walker. It was truly an honor.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was the oldest of five siblings, so our household was always full of activity. Our parents raised us in church, instilling strong moral principles, Christian values, and an unwavering faith that I continue to uphold and cherish to this day. I learned early on about leadership, a skill that prepared me for life in ways I never could have imagined.
As a high school student, I was actively involved in scholastic clubs such as the National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America. I also developed a passion for various arts and crafts, including sculpting, painting, and woodworking.
From a young age, the world of fashion and style fascinated me, and I always wanted to stand out in this area. However, I never considered pursuing it as a career. It wasn’t until after obtaining a degree in Political Science, that God intervened and guided me toward a creative calling, I had never anticipated.
