Hi Starsky, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I am a licensed pharmacist and Avon Representative from Baton Rouge, LA. that moved to Richmond Hill, GA with my husband two and a half years ago.

I always enjoyed selling Avon specifically skincare products because they did well for my skin. I always received compliments on my skin as well. Nothing would excite me more than for a customer to come to me with a skincare concern and ask for product recommendations. Having a background as a pharmacist helped me a lot with knowing skincare ingredients.

My product recommendations left my customers satisfied with their skincare results so I became fascinated with skincare. Shortly after moving to Georgia, I struggled to build Avon customers so I wanted to take my business to next level, and what better way to do that than education. I decided to go to esthetician school. I figured if I became more knowledgeable in skincare products, ingredients, and treatment modalities I could grow my business.

I enjoyed my entire time in esthetician school. The environment was so peaceful and relaxing. I found myself looking forward to giving facials. Every day I would leave work at the pharmacy and rush to school to set up the treatment room to do facials. I loved it!

During school, a lot of clients loved my facials and suggested that I go into business for myself. I pondered over this idea and then I finally decided to do it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, the road has not been smooth. It has taken a lot of money, and time to build my business. Building consistent clientele was my biggest challenge. Lots of people enjoy getting facials and waxing services but very few of them are consistent.

On top of building clientele, you must stay up to date on treatment modalities, new services, and products because customers have questions and expect you to know the answer. This takes a lot of your time. Reading, researching, listening to webinars is how I spend a lot of my time.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is Beaucoup Esthetics located at 7505 Waters Ave. Savannah, GA 31406.

I provide facials, waxing, and body treatments. I specialize in treating acne.

What sets me apart from other estheticians is that I take a lot of time with my clients. I talk to them about their skin and make recommendations regarding follow-up treatment and products. I strongly believe in educating my clients as well. This will help them maintain their results.

I am proud of my customer reviews. A lot of my clients say I have “magical hands.”

I want readers to know that if they come to me for a service they will leave feeling more confident and knowledgeable about their skin. Self-care is important for our mental well-being.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was wanting to be a mermaid! I’ve always loved the water and swimming. My favorite movie as a kid was Splash starring Daryl Hannah and Tom Hanks. I remember watching the scene where she would pour salt in her bathwater and her tail would appear. I tried doing this several times as a kid and I never got a mermaid tail. I would get so frustrated.

Until one day my mom found an empty bottle of Morton’s salt I forgot in the bathroom and she asked me about it. I told her I used the salt in my bath water so I could turn into a mermaid. She then explained to me that there was no such thing as mermaids and that what I saw in the movie was “make-believe.”
