Hi Stephanie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started singing when I was 12 years old when I appeared on It’s Showtime at the Apollo: Kids Apollo in New York City. I later became a Top 12 Finalist on American Idol Season Six after graduating high school. I decided to get into the party/entertainment rental business in March 2023 after my husband saw the popularity of the 360-photo booth and bubble tents on TikTok. Since I have over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, I figured that starting my own party/entertainment rental business would be a great fit for me. I have only been in business for nine months, but my business has flourished thus far. I recently purchased a party bus and will be adding it to my website soon for booking. I am also planning on getting back in the studio to start back recording music and potentially adding myself singing at events as a service on my website in the future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting Uniek Tents & Events LLC was not a smooth road. There have been unexpected expenses along the way and things I did not know until after I invested in my business. I am a perfectionist, so I struggled with finding the perfect decor for the luxury bubble tent rentals. I also struggled with the time it took me to set up the tent and decor because I always want things to be perfect for my clients. Just like with anything else, practice makes perfect. The more tents I set up, the easier it got.
The 360-photo booth was very stressful at first. There are so many aspects that come with operating the booth, from the software to creating each client’s custom overlay for their videos. I personally create each client’s overlay. I had to watch and study so many YouTube tutorials to not only learn how to create overlays, but to learn how to navigate the software needed to operate the photo booth. Then, I struggled with setting my prices. Initially, I set my prices based on other 360 photo booth operators in the area. Now, I set my prices based on what I have to offer as far as customer service, quality, and professionalism. I quickly realized that cheaper is not always better, and clients get what they pay for. Even though I have not been in business long, my experience as a professional singer and performer is what sets me apart from others. That is where the “Uniek” experience comes from.

Uniek Tents & Events LLC offers luxury bubble tent and 360 photo booth rentals for private and corporate events. Our luxury bubble tent rentals can be set up anywhere the client chooses and include full decor as well as table and chairs set up of four themes: Romantic Red, Bohemian, Purple Rain, and Coastal Oasis. I am most proud of the success of my business and the reputation I have created in such a short time. Savannah is small so most of my bookings have been from word of mouth and referrals. I have even had returning clients move their event dates to fit my schedule because they only want me to service their event. I also have clients that are now my good friends. I think all of these things speak for my character and who I am, not just as a businesswoman but as a person.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I recently purchased a party bus and expect to add it to my services on the website in a few months. In the next 5-10 years, I see Uniek Tents & Events LLC with several 360 photo booths and a fleet of party buses. I see my business expanding so much that I will need to hire employees like photo booth operators and drivers. The future for Uniek Tents & Events LLC is bright!
