Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Moultrie.
Hi Alisha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Savannah, GA. After graduating with a BBA degree in Marketing (2004) from Savannah State University, I landed careers in the banking and accounting industries. I decided in 2019 while taking on a full load of classes to receive my Master of Business Administration, working full time, and supporting a family, that I had waited long enough to pursue real estate.
I went all in; I would leave work either going to real estate classes or classes for my masters twice a week from 6 pm-10 pm. In December 2019, I received my master’s and real estate license at the same time. I didn’t hesitate to join one of Savannah’s best black-owned brokerages, Scott Realty Professionals.
The time, money, hard work, dedication & sacrifice was well worth it! I had finally accomplished goals that for years I didn’t think I would accomplish. I am thankful for my supporting family and friends for the push and encouragement along the way. My parents have been strong examples of financial stability, saving, and building wealth.
With over 25 years of experience in banking, accounting, and customer service, I ultimately became a realtor to assist families in creating generational wealth through real estate rather it be by homeownership or investing.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Real Estate is slightly different from all the other jobs I’ve had because there is no manual on how to be successful. You literally only get out what you put into it. That’s why I think it is so important to build good relationships with people and other real estate professionals.
Taking advantage of networking opportunities and engaging with the community will also enhance your ability to sustain in this market. My very first client was a direct result of how building lasting relationships can aid in success. Because of my professional relationship with my client, she trusted me to assist her in achieving her homeownership goals.
A few struggles I’ve encountered along the way include finding quality, educated lenders who are compassionate about the business and who sees the task through to the end. I’ve learned from experience that lenders can make or break a deal. Finding buyers who are prepared to purchase has also been complicated.
Everyone wants the American dream of homeownership; however, everyone is not educated, financially prepared, and are often unrealistic about their goals. It is my duty to educate and connect them with professionals who can guide them in the right direction.
I have been fortunate to have a full support team in my Scott Realty Professionals family. My Broker, Sabriya Scott, and a few other real estate gurus have played a major part in my growth and performance and have also been there to assist when challenges arise and believe me, they will come (haha).
When people see closing day pictures most only see the glory, but if you only knew the story. Real Estate can be challenging but is also very rewarding. I love celebrating families and investors who took on the task to invest in their futures.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Realtor in Savannah, Georgia with Scott Realty Professionals. providing exceptional real estate services throughout Georgia and South Carolina. I specialize in providing a tailored home buying experience for each and every one of my clients.
I want to be known as the “Realtor Concierge” because I take the time to sit down with my clients and find out what they’re looking for in a home, or investment property, review their financial health and stability to ensure that their dream of purchasing a home and reality align.
When assisting a client with selling a home, I provide transparency and insight to endure that the seller’s home is marketable and attracts serious individuals in search of a home.
What sets me apart from other realtors is that I take the time to develop a relationship with my clients. I walk with them along their home purchase order home selling journey. I cultivate an experience in which my clients know that I have their best interests in mind.
I interact with them regularly to ensure that they remain motivated and enthusiastic along the way. I am my client’s biggest cheerleader and I do not only tell them that, but I exhibit it in every aspect of their journey.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Never stop learning! Invest in the knowledge of the industry. As mentioned earlier before building lasting relationships with people and other professionals will aid in your success.
