Today we’d like to introduce you to Amandarose Szezorak.
Hi Amandarose, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I was in the 8th grade when my best friend gave me her uncle’s hand-me-down camera, and I fell in love! It felt right. Since then, I went straight into photography as a lifelong career. I became an associate of a local small studio and learned with a mentor. I photographed my first wedding at 16 and went off to a university for a BFA. I opened up my business. My senior year of college moved to Philadelphia, and 5 years later moved to Carmel, California. I’ve been in Carmel for 8+ years, opened a studio, and have associates on our team.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I almost laughed. I don’t think there is ever a smooth road being an entrepreneur. In 2015 I was diagnosed with eye cancer, a rare orphan cancer, and it challenged me whether or not I could continue. I am now 8 years out.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have a team of photographers, run a collaborative studio, educate photographers, and photograph weddings and portraits. We like to specialize in Wedding, Proposal, Boudoir, and Bridal Portraits
Any big plans?
Expanding my education and mentorship to newer photographers. Growing my team and my studio to help capture and serve couples and families.
