Conversations with Andres Galeano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andres Galeano. They and their team share their story with us below:

Galea productions started as a side gig, when Andres Galeano went back to his hometown in Colombia, it was just him and a camera. The clients start seeing the high- quality images and professional work that GALEA Production was producing and from word of mouth GALEA Production emerged.

With the ability of the director Andres Galeano to work all levels of the film production workflow, Galea production was capable of offering the clients a full 360-degree production. Right from ideation, all the way to motion graphics and post-production. Clients quickly saw GALEA Production as a one-stop-shop with the high quality they expect. This combo along with excellent service and strong business relationships is what catapults GALEA production to new heights.

Back in 2016 Andres Galeano, the CEO and director, was offered a full-time opportunity to teach cinematography and visual effects at one of the most renowned art schools in the world, Savannah College of Art and Design. Andres couldn’t resist the opportunity to share his knowledge with the new generation of artists, and after teaching roughly 1.400 students in his almost six years teaching career at SCAD.

Andres and GALEA production is coming back to offer full video services to clients and the company is in full steam.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The hardest struggle is always budgeting. Clients’ expectations are always very high but sometimes they need a reminder of the cost of video production and all it entails.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a creative artist that constantly finds himself creating ideas and morphing them into stories. Due to my multifaceted creative career, I’ve earned international awards and recognitions in different areas of the creative industry such as a director, writer, motion designer, photographer, and filmmaker.

Establishing myself as a creative artist in a world for me where labels are extinct and titles are too tight. The urge to constantly express my ideas and turn them into stories has morphed me into a multifaceted restless creative artist that can’t be fitted into a mold. As I like to describe it: “Fitting the mold it’s a great strategy, but not a refreshing feeling; uniqueness requires courage, and it’s often harder to accomplish — but much more rewarding.”

You’ll often find me making nice latte art, pointing my camera at random angles, spitballing random ideas, hammering a new skill, traveling to find inspo, or hanging out with friends and family. I will never settle for the ordinary, so I’m restless and creative in search of a great story to tell!

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Playing soccer, climbing trees, and not being afraid of highs. But in my heart, the most beautiful memories will always be around Christmas times at the ranch with my whole family.
