Conversations with Ashley Morris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Morris.

Hi Ashley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always wanted to start my own business, and I’ve had ideas over the years but after going through a difficult time with my mental health I decided to pursue something that made not just me happy, but others too.

I came across a Figaro for sale and the idea crossed my mind to use it as a photo/event prop but thought maybe it wouldn’t be wise to invest in that idea at the time. It came up again that it was still available, I hesitated to buy it but decided to move forward.

I had to place a bid on eBay (which I’ve never done before), and I watched it down to the second and got an alert that I won! I was so excited but also nervous, I just bought a car without seeing it in person! Am I crazy?! Maybe.

But once I pulled up and saw how cute it was, I didn’t regret my decision. It’s such a fun car and everyone smiles when they see it, you can’t help but love the car honestly!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
So far no major challenges, the Figaro was in great shape when I got it. Just needed to be cleaned up, the biggest struggle is getting parts for it because they come from the United Kingdom.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m currently a stay-at-home mom, which is the most rewarding job you can have. But besides that, I love design, especially interior design! I am extremely detail-oriented and I think that shows through the past few homes I’ve staged and redesigned.

I’m also most proud of myself for never following the crowd or the trends of the world, I’ve always been a very transparent and soulful person deep down and I’ll never change that.

We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is not about how much money you bring home. It’s thriving and actually living life versus working like a slave for someone else’s dream.

Success to me also is overcoming things that kept you back from not moving forward or taking that next step in life no matter how small. All it takes is a bit of faith.

Don’t let fear hold you back from your goals or dreams, take the leap if that’s what your heart is telling you to do.
