Conversations with Cathleen Campbell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cathleen Campbell.

Hi Cathleen , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I knew I was an artist as long as I can remember., I would watch Bob Ross and try to accomplish with crayons what he did with oil paint . I was born in Colorado Springs but grew up in West Virginia. I was always drawn to the ocean and drew mermaids and waves . I majored in fine arts in college,, and started the art walk in my home town . Coming to Savannah I saw my chance to live my dream of living and creating near the ocean and was active in the Savannah Gallery of Art, Savannah Art Association, and won several awards including 3 first place . Living on Tybee, I walk snd sketch and paint everyday . I now own the tybee Art Gallery and am living the dream of a 5 year old that told everyone I was a mermaid

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest obstacle for me was coming into a new town with lots of fantastic artists 16 years ago . No one even knew that WV was a state, let alone a great art university. It was by just keep trying to do my best, never give up and listen to my heart that I do belong in the beautiful art community. It’s been admazing journey, and I couldn’t be more proud of the art family I’ve created

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m most proud that I never gave up my dream of being a full time artist . I’m also very good a business, and I know my tribe of artists and creatives . The gallery I run has 35 artists and we are dedicated to bringing you the best experience in art anywhere

What’s next?
I hope to grow our business through social media, marketing, and events we host
