Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrystal Lewis.
Hi Chrystal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
As a younger girl, I used to wear uniforms to school.
Over time, I got bored of wearing the same old polo T-shirt and khaki or black bottoms so I started finding loopholes in my school’s dress code. I even branched out to have a different style every school year. This caught the attention of my mother who decided to put me in modeling classes.
As you can tell this creative thinking introduced me to the world of fashion. Which later led me to fall in love with it and with some support, I decided to become a fashion stylist and model.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m so thankful for how far I come but it wasn’t easy.
Figuring out how to run a fashion styling business was a first for me and everyone around me. I was basically on my own but with some research, I was able to get some framework down.
As far as modeling went it was all about knowing the right people and putting myself out there.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a fashion stylist and model which means I specialize in all things fashion.
My main goal is to make my clients happy with my results. I love seeing the awe in their faces once the outfit is put together or when a shoot goes just right. It makes me just as happy. Not only because of that but also because with every project I grow. And I am so proud of my growth.
Ever since I started my career journey I’ve realized that I can do whatever my heart wants to do. As long as I have good intentions and an idea anything is possible.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The biggest lesson that Covid taught me was to start a portfolio, build a website, and take phone calls instead of in-person meetings… very efficient.
