Conversations with Holly Hammonds Edwards

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Hammonds Edwards.

Hi Holly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was thrilled to graduate as a Physical Therapist Assistant last spring, and have loved every second of working in healthcare. However, I was missing a creative outlet after a long career in marketing and retail. With the encouragement of my friends and family, I decided to pursue this “content creation” avenue in my free time. What started as a way to share my love of travel and fashion with a few followers has turned into a potential new career with an international move on the horizon. I was blessed to be accepted into the ShopMy affiliate program, and have since started earning enough to supplement my income once in Germany.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a fairly smooth, but definitely hilly road! This isn’t the first time I tried starting a page. A few years ago I applied to the Like To Know It – or LTK – affiliate program, and was denied. It was honestly a bit of a blow (though why would they accept me with 700 followers? haha) and I convinced myself I didn’t have what it took to succeed in this space. After deciding to dive back into it, I told myself I would just try my best and see what happened. Within the first 2 weeks, I had a brand reach out to me about a paid collaboration and the ball started rolling. I haven’t looked back since!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Honestly, I am still figuring out what to specialize in. My love for fashion, travel, and unique experiences is equally split and I am currently using my page to share all three. One thing that sets me apart from others in this space is the fact that I’m a military spouse. I have the unique perspective of someone who has been a local in places I might not have ever even visited. The opportunity to live internationally and share that experience with my audience is what I am most anticipating. We already have so many countries planned and I can’t wait to share each of them with those who may not have the chance to visit. I want everyone who follows along to feel like they are getting the local experience.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I would be sincerely grateful if you’d like to follow along with me. You can find me on instagram at the.future.local and can contact me with questions or collaboration requests at [email protected]. The best way to support me (and other creators) is to like and share posts!
