Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Rose Farreh.
Hi Jaime, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
When I was about 13 years old someone found a book on landscape photography and I started to look through and I fell in love with the photos and that is when I know what I was supposed to do with my life. I graduated from the New England School of Photography in 2001. In 2008, my husband and I moved to Savannah, Georgia.
My husband lived in Savannah when he was in college he knew the area and started showing me around. I became fascinated with all the history and decided I wanted to showcase this in my work. When I started to photograph Savannah I wanted to put my own spin on it. In 2011, a friend of mine took me out to photograph the beach at night and that is when everything changed for me. I knew night photography was my passion.
In 2012, I submitted an idea to Savannah Art Culture about doing a show of the Savannah squares at night they loved the idea after they saw in Madison Square photo. That is what started my focus on historic Savannah and not just night photography. In 2015, I opened my own Etsy Store.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A few of my struggles have been what was the best equipment to use. What kind of technique to use. Trying to figure out the best days and times of the year to shoot different locations to try to minimize the crowds. I wanted to photograph all 22 squares but some of them are more interesting than others so trying to find interesting composition can be a challenge. How to get exposure of my work whether from local art show or online.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in night photography primarily in historic Savannah. I’m very proud that I got to photograph Forsyth Fountain during a snow storm in 2018. Showing people a different perspective of Savannah by shooting at night and creative angles and composition.

Love this story! It’s not always easy to understand or “see” an artist’s vision, yet Jamie’s photography captivates me as if I’m looking through the lens with her, understanding the story she is telling. Beautiful work! Thank you for sharing your talents
