Today we’d like to introduce you to Liana Serio.
Liana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The birth of my business began with throwing my good friend’s baby shower. I was responsible for everything, including making the desserts (which, of course, included chocolate-covered strawberries and pretzels).
Despite it being my first time, everything came out absolutely beautiful, and everyone encouraged me to start my own chocolate-covered berry business.
Every opportunity I had, I was making berries; as gifts for my kid’s basketball teams and coaches, for teacher appreciation week, holidays, and birthdays.
After about a year of gifting and selling my arrangements, I decided to take the step of turning my newfound love into an official business. In early 2021, I launched my company website, began promoting my brand on social media, and connected with experienced business professionals for support and guidance.
In April 2021, my company was invited to sponsor an Oscars celebrity gifting event at the Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA. This created great exposure and recognition for my brand and generated further opportunities, including a feature on ABC4 TV Utah’s “Must- Have’s”, and our first red carpet event where we catered for a private screening of Emmy Award-winning “The Bay Series”.
Since, I’ve been dedicated to evolving my brand and expanding my company. We will begin selling our products in select Southern California retail locations by summer 2022.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’m an artistic person, so the creative aspects of my business are always fun. I can literally create from sun up to sun down with complete happiness.
But, like many other entrepreneurs that are just starting their journey, I was wearing almost every hat; from the photographer, editor, website builder, and content creator, to branding, marketing, book keeping, and more. It was challenging to manage all of these things while still working and being a mother of a teenager and pre-teen. There were times I felt discouraged, afraid, or overwhelmed.
But, a wise man once told me “If your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.” He also said, “To get something you never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.” I understand that anything great and worth having takes hard work, doing things outside of your comfort zone, taking risks, and making sacrifices.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Stepping outside the box, in my world, is a must in order to remain unique, innovative, and true to who I am. I formed my brand’s foundation on these principles, with exclusive arrangements that reflect elegance and creativity. My specialties are custom chocolate covered strawberries and treats handcrafted with Belgian couverture chocolate and gourmet garnishes such as gold leaf, luster dust, edible glitter, sanding sugar, hand piped and painted designs. Our custom collection features arrangements with inspired themes such as The Golden Empress, Savannah Couture, and our most popular, Vintage Rose. It’s our standard to create every arrangement with care and love, to never sacrifice quality for quantity, and for these specialty gifts to bring people together when celebrating life’s special moments. LT&B has a unique artistic edge that sets us apart from others and as my brand grows, I strive to continuously evolve with everything I create.
What do you think about happiness?
I believe happiness is something we should all strive for to create the most meaningful life possible and to allow our light to shine in everything we do.
I believe my purpose in life is to not only use my gifts and talents for my business, but to use the platform God has given me to give back to others through avenues that help change lives, inspire others to do what they love, and to pursue their purpose as well.
This amazing journey of business, motherhood, and philanthropy is what truly makes me happy and grateful.
