Conversations with Lynn Frizzell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn Frizzell.

Hi Lynn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started as a cosplayer in 2016 as a family hobby. We would make everything together and then wear our group cosplays to conventions. I was quickly sucked into what was a very loving and supportive community of people at the time and grew with the community as it grew itself. I’m lucky enough to have gotten to know and learn from so many people that I look up to and aspire to be more like every day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been times where I’ve needed to step away from working on certain things. In a hobby where you’re constantly learning new skills, it can be frustrating when you don’t take to something right away.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m the most proud of how far I’ve come as a wig stylist. It’s taken countless hours of practice to figure out how to achieve some of the more intricate or impossible IRL styles.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how much we embrace uniqueness in our community here! Coming here from a small town where anything deemed “unusual” would be frowned upon was really interesting. Everyone here is so open and proud to be who they are! The only thing I really dislike about Savannah is trying to find parking.
