Today we’d like to introduce you to Majo Laprea.
Hi Majo, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Troupial is a dream that has been working for 10 years. At first it had no shape, no colors, no structure, but I knew that Coffee would be the soul of the proposal. I left Venezuela and lived in Argentina for 6 years, feeding the idea of creating my own brand through which I could share coffees from different parts of the world. Three years ago I moved to Savannah, GA and I read a need on the market and started moving around it to build what is today Troupial.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Never the smooth journey of the entrepreneur. Many things happen but I feel that the key is to be persistent, work from the spiritual, physical and intellectual and always move towards the goal. The main struggle is COVID-19 but I received everything as an opportunity, not as a problem.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Originally, I am a Telecommunications Engineer and I worked for 8 years in technological projects of communications in South America. I am proud to be able to feel today that I am on my way to connecting my academic training with my passion for the professional world of Coffee.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Troupial is a Venezuelan brand based in Specialty Coffee Services created in Savannah, GA and inspired by the wish to go back to my roots.
