Conversations with Robbie Grantham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robbie Grantham.

Hi Robbie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I picked up my first camera as a young kid making skits with my friends. As I grew, I became more and more interested in videography and video editing. After attending Georgia Southern University, I decided to go full time. I directed my first video in 2013, and have been steadily refining my style and craft since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been some definite challenges along the way, but it’s all part of the learning curve of running your own business. Finding the balance between work/home life was hugely important to me, and I finally feel like I’m figuring that out.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve been directing/filming/editing music videos since 2013. I specialize in chaotic videos for heavier artists, but have also worked within the realms of R&B, hip hop, and country. My style is very fast-paced and gritty, with surgically precise editing and top notch color grading. I have my own sort of “secret recipe” when it comes to color grading to achieve the look I’ve come to hone over the years (no hints!). I also write and record music under the names VIOLENT ENTITY and myheartyourhands.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Savannah is a truly beautiful and unique place. The architecture, spanish moss, and large squares feel like something out of a movie to me. The only downside is that it’s so far out of the way for me!
