Today we’d like to introduce you to Sweta Patel.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my food blog when I moved to Savannah, GA around 4 years ago, just around the time when my husband and I got married. We both left our corporate jobs up north to pursue my husband’s business down here in Savannah! I was so fortunate to discover so many amazing restaurants locally here in Savannah and be able to have full access to real southern comfort food. All these things lead to my pursuit and passion in cooking, and started my food blog The table of spice. My main focus for my food blog was to create fun, easy and most importantly comfort cozy meals that I grew up eating and fusion meals from my Indian roots tied with true American comfort meals. I recently launched my cookbook “The Table of Spice” which is filled with desserts, drinks, easy dinners and much much more.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I will say nothing in life is easy but hustle is sold separately and rejection is always part of the process. Once you accept those things you will learn to focus on what’s important to you and your business. For me, it was to create recipes that people would make time after time and call my recipes a staple in their kitchen. But most importantly it was to create an ease for many people who didn’t have the time, energy or even passion for cooking. Trust me, it’s easier said than done! But time after time I receive so many messages from many people from different walks of life telling me they made my recipe, or they had the kids help them and how fuzzy toddlers licked their plate clean! Its messages like that; that keep me motivated to do more with my creativity in the kitchen!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a full content creator + food recipe developer and brand photographer. I love what I do and enjoy working with so many amazing brands to incorporate into my food and lifestyle blog. Working with different brands to help them create social media content and even websites has been such a great experience for me overall because, I started from nothing and here I am with a cookbook, striving food blog and working with such big brands; that I created for myself! Learning the different ropes on my own and branching out to so many other opportunities has been a dream and not to mention very rewarding.

What’s next?
I would love to grow my brand and business even more, be on a cooking show one day or write another book. I want people to know and see that creating delicious recipes are easy, fun and most importantly it’s about creating memories! Do what you love and love what you do!
