Conversations with Tyler Cooke

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Cooke.

Hi Tyler, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been making videos pretty much for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved the arts, whether it’s music, acting, drawing, or storytelling, and I see content creation as a good mix of all of them. From designing graphics, to making original music for videos, to creative storytelling… It’s been a great way for me to bring all of my passions together and really use all the gifts and talents that God gave me.

Right now, I work full-time as the content creator for Zunzi’s + Zunzibar. I get to make a lot of fun, silly promotional videos, as well as produce (and sometimes co-host) their podcast. The opportunity actually came through a DM from Chris Smith, the CEO of Zunzi’s. In the midst of job-searching, he reached out asking how we could work together, and that conversation turned into what I’m doing now.

Outside of Zunzi’s, I’m currently a Team Lead with the Savannah Bananas, a youth leader at my church, and an independent content creator. Everything I do, whether it’s for work, ministry, or just for fun, has really come back to creating meaningful, engaging experiences that hopefully leave people encouraged and entertained. This entire journey has been such a God-given opportunity, especially at my age. I fully believe that the best is yet to come. This is just the beginning.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. I’ve had many people doubt my career path and my abilities, especially since content creation isn’t widely seen as a “real job” yet by most people. I’ve really just done my best to stay focused, trust God, and keep showing up with excellence and consistency. I’ve had several seasons of my life where I wasn’t sure how things were going to come together. But I’ve learned that God’s timing is perfect. Even when things don’t go according to my own plan, He’s always working. So I’m going to continue trying my best to keep going and give my full efforts in everything I do, because I know that’s what I’ve been called to do.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I believe that people sometimes take themselves too seriously. I love making people smile and am super passionate about the things I create. God has given me such specific talents and skill sets. I definitely believe I was made to do this.

How do you define success?
Success is making a difference, using the talents God has given you to encourage, inspire, and bring joy to people’s lives, ultimately bringing them closer to Him.
