Daily Inspiration: Meet Daniel Lotito

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Lotito

Hi Daniel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began making music in 2020. Since then I have been honing my craft and building my brand, DCOS Records, which is my means to express my music, merch designs, and print works. I’ve been lucky enough to meet other artists (and friends) who I collaborate closely with such as Klassik Poet., Chase Jameson, Kyle Secor, Mimo Thomas, Elana Thimm, and Ben Rakestraw.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing worth doing is smooth and easy. It’s all about staying even-keeled throughout your journey knowing some days you’re the hammer, and some days you’re the nail. As an artist you do not know what people will like or dislike, so you have to create from a genuine place within yourself, be confident in what you are releasing, and the world will take it from there. I don’t see these so much as struggles, but as opportunities to be free.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make music. Primarily hip-hop music with influences of jazz, house, R&B, and funk. I work closely with MCs Klassik Poet, Chase Jameson, and Peso Kashway. All we care about is giving quality music to the people and hoping that they vibe with it. I also design clothing and visuals (physical + digital) to go along with the music. I’d say what sets me apart is that I try to be truly unique and original with what I do. That’s not to say what I do hasn’t been done before, but in terms of sonics and feeling, I try to stay true to my ear and what I like. I believe that’s the way to set yourself apart and create a world of your own.

I’m proud of the works I’ve already produced for the artists I mentioned above, and I am excited for what’s to come as we continue to work together.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
