Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Nayz.
Hi DJ Nayz, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am 18 years old and I’m a Jewish event DJ. I have been really into music since I was around 12. I loved the idea of partying and choosing music.
When I was 14 years old, I finally made the move and started a GoFundme for DJ equipment. I raised over $600 and bought my first DJ controller! I got my first gig that summer in Cincinnati for a backyard bat mitzvah. Ever since I’ve Been getting more and more gigs. I cater to the Jewish Community of Baltimore, I’m in high school there, but my family lives in Cincinnati.
I do bar/bat Mitzvahs, Chanukah parties, and engagement parties, and I just did my first wedding. As of now, I just do events and I have some mixes online, but I am learning to produce professional EDM, as I anxiously want to produce and release my own music.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I had a slow start but once I came to Baltimore for 11th and 12th Grade, business got much better. I still don’t get hired weekly but Thank G-d, I have been getting lots of gigs!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I want to make the client’s event the best event they’ve ever been to.
I work with their budget and I cater to their music taste. I mainly stick to Jewish music because that’s my religion. I do all different types of Jewish events, I’ve even done an old age home Chanukah Party!
I haven’t released any of my own tracks yet but I am working very hard to get better and eventually release an EDM song in the near future G-D willing.
