Today we’d like to introduce you to Giovanni Monroe.
Hi Giovanni, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I would say my story started coming into college. I was always interested in the modeling/fashion world but I didn’t know much about it. When I came to college, I was introduced to something called modeling troupes. I was then scouted & invited to audition for Savage Incorporated Models; of which I’m now the President. Being in this organization, I was able to produce a few shows, photoshoots & video concepts. Following this, I realized that I was genuinely a creator and had the “eye” or “vision” as well as the project management skills. Coming into this realization, I decided that I wanted the technical skills of a photographer & videographer so that I could execute my own vision without always having to outsource or collaborate. Which led me to create “GTM Studios” where I can bring both my and other people’s visions to life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road so far but I’m blessed & I’m just getting started. I’d say it hasn’t been the smoothest process because of the learning curves as a beginner photographer/editor as well as dealing with self-doubt. With that being said, God has my back & I can overcome any challenge through him.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Creative Director, Photographer, Videographer, & Model Coordinator. My specialization is portrait & editorial photography. I’m not sure if I’m known for anything just yet but I would say if I’m known for anything; I’m known for producing high quality work and putting my all into everything I do. The thing I’m most proud of at the moment is the week-long series that my organization, “Savage Incorporated Models” produced which I was blessed enough to take the lead in coordinating/directing it. It consisted of two photoshoots, a video shoot, a runway show, and multiple promotional videos/pictures(shoutout to the promotions team). I would say what sets me apart is my drive, my vision, & my business oriented mindset.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m a nerd. I like video games, superhero’s, anime, the whole nine yards really. I’m also a heavy believer in God & my Lord Jesus Christ.
