Hi Jayla, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started Jayla Niccal’s Petal Palace with a deep love for flowers and a desire to create beauty in people’s lives. It all began with me designing arrangements for fun, not realizing it would spark something bigger. I didn’t have a huge platform or tons of resources just passion, creativity, and a dream. As I started sharing my work, I realized how much joy it brought others, and that pushed me to keep going.
Right now, I’m juggling a lot. I work full time, I’m a student studying criminal justice, and I’m growing my business from the ground up. It’s not always easy, but I’m committed. I’m working hard to get my name out there and connect with more people who appreciate detail, quality, and a personal touch. Every order means so much to me because I pour my heart into every single arrangement. Whether it’s a birthday, celebration, sympathy bouquet, or “just because,” I want each one to feel meaningful.
Outside of school and work, I’m growing personally too. I’m learning to believe in myself more, embracing my bold personality, and building confidence along the way. I’m also a proud dog mama to my pup Onyx, and I’ve got dreams way bigger than where I started.
This journey has had its ups and downs, but every step has made me stronger. And even with everything on my plate, I’m still showing up, still creating, and still dreaming. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Two major challenges I face with my business are finding time to promote Jayla Niccal’s Petal Palace and creating consistent, engaging content. Balancing full-time work, school, and running my business leaves limited time for marketing, and staying inspired to create content regularly can be tough. But I’m committed to finding ways to make it work and connect with my audience.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m most proud of actually starting Jayla Niccal’s Petal Palace because growing up, I struggled with procrastination. Turning that habit around to launch and grow my own business has been a huge accomplishment. Alongside running my business, I’ve gained valuable customer service experience as a hostess at the JW Marriott’s Myrtle and Rose Rooftop Bar, all while studying criminal justice. Each step has helped me grow personally and professionally, and I’m excited for what’s next!
What makes you happy?
Onyx, my puppy, brings me so much joy with his loving presence. Creating floral arrangements is another thing that makes me feel whole it helps me channel my creativity and bring a little bit of beauty into the world. Spending time with my family, especially during our Monday night prayer calls, is something that brings me peace and connection. The support of my mom is truly inspiring and motivates me to keep pushing myself to make her proud. These moments remind me of the importance of love and support, making life feel more balanced and fulfilling.
