Daily Inspiration: Meet Lyn Walsh Fortunato

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyn Walsh Fortunato.

Hi Lyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Coming from New York, I began my career in the fast-paced world of corporate design, working with major financial firms such as Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. I advanced from designer to Art Director and eventually to Global Design Manager, a role that even took me to London for several years. That time abroad greatly broadened my perspective—not only on design and business, but also on how people live, work, and create around the world.

When I relocated to the South, I was ready for a new chapter. I became a Realtor, but I didn’t leave my creative background behind. My experience in design, marketing, and digital strategy translates seamlessly into real estate—whether it’s staging and presenting homes, creating strong visual marketing, or helping clients see the full potential of a space. Alongside that, I continue to pursue my fine art, focusing on bold, urban-inspired pieces that explore texture, mood, and story.

Where I am today really brings it all together: my years in design and marketing and my passion for creativity all feed into the work I do now. Whether it’s guiding someone through a real estate journey or creating artwork that resonates, I’m still doing what I’ve always loved—telling stories in a way that inspires and connects.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Reinventing myself hasn’t come without its challenges. Leaving New York meant saying goodbye to family, friends, and a career I’d built for over 25 years in design and corporate media. Starting over in the South meant stepping into the unknown—new industry, new connections, and a whole new way of doing business.

But those challenges also pushed me to grow. I leaned on the skills I already had—creativity, design, marketing, and communication—and found ways to apply them in real estate and in my art. There were moments of doubt, of course, but I’ve always believed in persistence and in staying open to change. Looking back, the obstacles really shaped the path I’m on today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Today my work is really split between two passions—real estate and art—and what sets me apart is the way the two connect. As a Realtor with HomesFinder Realty Group, I specialize in helping clients see more than just a house. I bring my background in visual communications into every transaction—whether that’s staging a home live or virtually, to show its full potential, creating marketing materials that stand tell the property’s story in a way that resonates with buyers and stands out amongst the competition.

On the fine art side, I’m known for my bold, urban-inspired acrylics—gritty, layered pieces that explore mood and energy. It’s a completely different world than the calm, coastal environment of the Lowcountry, but I think that contrast is what makes my work unique. My work is currently on exhibit at the Beaufort Art Association Gallery, which has been such a great way to share my vision with the local community.

Beyond my career, I’m passionate about giving back. I’m an active community volunteer, and I also live a life centered on wellness and fitness, which keeps me grounded and energized.

What I’m most proud of is being able to merge all these different aspects of my life into something cohesive. I get to use my creativity to help people—whether it’s finding their dream home, selling a property successfully, or creating a piece of art that speaks to them on a personal level. That blend of business, creativity, and connection is what truly sets me apart.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is when my Dad would take my sister and I to the ‘Big Bow Wow’ in Coney Island. I remember that so vividly…not sure why….maybe it was the delicious pizza or the nearby rides!!! Probably both! It was something we did often, and I always looked forward to that day.
