Hi Mishandria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My interest in makeup sparked after my uncle passed away in 2012.
I needed something new and different that would provide a means of temporarily escaping my reality. Doing my makeup became that escape I desired.
Over time, I became really good and others started to notice which led to them asking if I could do theirs. Once I finally said yes, my business took off from there.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been smooth. In the beginning, I lacked confidence in my art. I constantly compared my artistry to others in the industry and it would make me feel that my work wasn’t up to par.
I had to realize that everyone had to start somewhere and the only way to get better is to keep practicing and always be open to learning from those that I feel are more advanced.

I’m the owner of Beauty by Mishandria where I specialize in glam makeup applications. I’m most known for my fun, eye-catching makeup looks.
Doing my makeup was a way of relaxing for me and I create that same type of environment for my busy everyday clients. I think that experience is what sets me apart from others.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was extremely quiet and reserved growing up. My interests included sports, video games, art, and writing. I was so tomboyish, lol.
