Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Navon.
Natalia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I always loved cooking food since I was little girl. Never thought I would be a chef. My first degree was management of organization and I was helping my husband with bar and grill that he opened with his family. And that’s when I decided “who I want to be when I grow up”😄. I went to culinary school and that was it. My passion for cooking especially seafood is endless. We decided to open restaurant Pier 16. Now it is my heart.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been tough bc we opened during covid. No employees. I was working 6 months pregnant on the line cooking. I remember I went to make she crab soup and the next day I went to hospital to have my baby girl Julianna. No to mention 2 weeks later I was back on the line cooking. But we made it!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an Executive Chef and owner at Pier16 restaurant on Tybee island
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
