Hi Patrice, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
In 2019, as a single mother of a NICU 23week miracle, working in healthcare as a Medication Technician I had this revelation that, “My Pain is my Purpose.” It came to me that everything I’ve been through up to that time in my life God wanted me to use it. After battling the health scares my son faced and postpartum depression for 3 years. I had finally got on my feet but deep down I could hear God tell me I’m destined for more! I decided to start a business! I knew nothing of doing so, so I began to research entrepreneurship. I knew I wanted to start the right way and I knew I wanted to target a market that wasn’t being targeted. I named my business after my Son, A’myr, Amour LLC. The market I chose was Body Oils and Essential Oils I later added Car freshener sprays and name brand Perfume & Cologne. I accept any and all requests for all oils and fragrances. To let the public know what I was selling I hosted my own very 1st Pop-Up Shop and it was a huge success!
While in the preparation process of hosting that event I learned how to graphic design, starting with my business cards and eventually flyers, logos, menus, price lists, you name it! I always say God sat that talent on my lap! I went on to learn how to design almost anything as well as offer promotional and marketing services such as retractable banners, car magnets, yard signs and more!
In the 1st year, I made over 200 designs and gained 1,000+ followers on Facebook. I then created multiple logos for myself and started to offer apparel. Amour LLC offers Tshirts, Sweaters, Hats & Skullies available on AmourLLC.com In the midst of that I Hosted, Co-Hosted and planned several more events: Altogether 11 community flea market events as well as a paint and sip and a free community kids fest. The next one coming up on Memorial Weekend at the Grays Hill Community Center in Beaufort, SC.
In 2021 I began to manage Local rapper MGM LongWay of Money Gang Mafia and became a South Carolina Notary Public.
In the future, I would like to create my own brand perfume and cologne and I’m in the process of writing an urban nonfiction book, “Love Trauma,” a first of many books to come. What started off as a small oils business has grown and multiplied tremendously into several different businesses and I enjoy every bit of it. I love everything I am now involved with and can’t wait to publish my book and use it to start a non-profit organization for domestic violence in honor of my cousin, Yvette Monik Moorer, named Yvette Survivors. My motivation is my Son a miracle child in several different ways including PCOS. I came across a quote that I felt applied to my Son and the battles he faced as a micro-preemie. This quote inspired Amour Brand Logo designs. “According to all known Laws of Aviation, there is no way that a Bee should be able to Fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The Bee, of course, flies anyways. Because Bees don’t care what Humans think is ”IMPOSSIBLE.” -Tamara Marshia
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I will say I feel the road has been somewhat smooth because I learn as much as I can about whatever it is I take interest in but as a beginner what I like to tell customers is that to help start their business, trial and error is necessary!

I’m known for most of my businesses- my Oils, my Pop-Up Shop Events and my designs. I specialize in graphic designs and marketing/promotions. I design Cartoons, Logos, Flyers, Snap Filters, Business Card Designs, Price Lists, Menus, Mixtape & Book Covers, Obituaries, Invitations, Banners, Signs, Table Cloths, and so much more!
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Absolutely! Helping others get businesses started is something I offer as well. I go as far as help with LLC filings and setting up Facebook business pages or anything else that I could assist with. What I wish I knew when I started I would have to say the power of networking with strangers. Networking can take you places!
