Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosa Campos.
Hi Rosa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started doing wedding hair and makeup when I was 18 years old back in 2013 but I always loved hair and makeup. Especially since I grew up competing in pageants. Since then hair and makeup was always something I did as a hobby and it truly gave me the flexibility in college to be able to focus on school and pay for my books!
As my company grew, I realized I could no longer be a one-woman show and started growing my team. At the time, it was still under by name but in 2020 I took the leap of faith to start Beauty Babes ATL and build a company and team from the ground up and I can truly say it has been the best decision I ever made!
Our team is composed of talented cosmetologists and certified makeup artists, from print to bridal to pageant and everything in between there is truly nothing this team can’t do! We bring the full service glam to YOU! What makes our team unique is that we all come from different backgrounds in the beauty industry and truly work as a team to grow and learn from each other. Being a Beauty Babe means you’re a part of a sisterhood. Our mission is to ensure each client feels like a movie star when they are getting glammed!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As the owner, it has not always been a smooth road, there were several late nights and early mornings, challenging conversations. Especially when you’re building something new you truly have to give it all you have to watch it grow and be successful and I’m very proud of the growth our team has had in the last year and to know I have been in the industry for almost 9 years blows my mind but I truly LOVE what I do. We get to be a part of special moments that last a lifetime and it’s an honor that our team gets to be a part of that.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a first generation immigrant from Costa Rica. My parents left all they knew so that their 5 children could live out their dreams. Being the youngest I can truly say I am where I am in life because of the sacrifices my parents made. I love my job and I am able to provide opportunities for other artists. That to me is what truly sets me apart. I have seen hard work my entire life so I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty and do the jobs that some may not want to. I love people and more than anything I love to bring joy to people’s life. I honestly feel like our company does that. Our team Nadia, Olxandra, Lindsey, Paula, Erandi, and Cheyanne all have a heart for people and watching them work is so special because they don’t just do what is asked but they go above and beyond. They’re all so incredibly talented and KIND which makes working with them so special!
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is knowing I am living my purpose.
