Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Turner.
Hi Stephen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Effingham County. Spent my childhood fishing in my dad’s pond and really didn’t get into saltwater fishing until about 10 or so years ago. It was an addiction I would slowly let morph into the fisherman I am today. After a trip to Ketchikan, Alaska, I immediately signed up for Sea School to obtain my license. I had an “ah ha” moment in AK and knew exactly what I should be doing. After getting my license, I started getting on the water and actually learning the waters, instead of just riding on them. It’s definitely a passion to not only put clients on fish but to conserve and protect the environment in which we fish.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Anyone who fishes will tell you that every day has new challenges. The key is learning to embrace the challenge and to never give up. What worked yesterday might not work today!!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I enjoy sharing my passion for the sport and my love for the water with every customer that comes along. Hearing stories from all walks of life has really opened my mind to a lot of new things and people over the past few years. It’s a dream to wake up daily and know I get to take people fishing and create memories that last a lifetime.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
God for allowing me the ability to do what I do! Every single client I’ve ever had on the boat. My dad for having a pond and showing me how to fish at a young age. My buddy Casey for getting me into saltwater fishing. And all my momma’s prayers!!
