Exploring Life & Business with a REALTOR® at Corcoran Austin Hill Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantel Wade

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Absolutely! I grew up in the mountains of North Georgia and, due to a challenging family situation, I couldn’t wait to move far away. After being accepted to George Mason University, I quickly realized I wouldn’t be able to afford it, so I turned to the military, inspired by my uncle’s stories of travel and education. I enlisted right after high school and spent nearly seven years stationed in Europe and Asia, visiting 26 countries along the way.
During my service, I met my wonderful husband, also active duty, and we had a daughter born in Belgium. After her birth, I realized that having both parents in the military wasn’t the best setup for our family, so I made the decision to transition out.
At first, I was unsure of what my next steps would be, but I knew I loved travel, architecture, and helping people. That’s when it clicked…real estate was the perfect way to combine all of these passions. While I may not travel the world anymore, I get to explore and learn about Savannah, from its hidden gems to its rich history and stunning architecture. That’s what led me to pursue my real estate license and join Corcoran Austin Hill Realty, where I’m thrilled to continue helping people and growing in my career.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, especially since I got my license during one of the most challenging years for real estate in recent history. High rates and a slow market made it tough to find clients, and being new to the area without a network added to the challenge. However, I used that time to learn the area, build relationships with locals, and connect with professionals like inspectors and lenders. While there were struggles, I turned them into opportunities, and 2025 has already been an incredible year.

We’re big fans of REALTORS® at Corcoran Austin Hill Realty. For our readers who are not familiar with you or the Corcoran Austin Hill Realty brand, can you tell us more?
I help people find homes that can be their safe place, whether it’s for a lifetime or just for a season. Additionally, I assist clients in selling their homes as they transition to new adventures. I work with a wide range of clients, but I specialize in serving military families.
My personal background and experiences as both a former service member and a military spouse make me the perfect person to guide military families through the home-buying process. I understand the challenges they face, from PCS (Permanent Change of Station) moves to navigating VA loans, and I’m passionate about making the process as smooth as possible for them.
I go above and beyond for my clients to ensure they feel fully supported. I’m currently attending SCAD online to earn my Bachelor’s in Advertising and Branding, which helps me better market properties and serve my clients. I don’t just focus on the transaction—I care about the experience and will do whatever it takes, from staying up all night to help clean a home to spending the day painting or moving furniture. My clients know that I’m always ready to roll up my sleeves and do the hard work.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients and how I’ve began making a name for myself as a strong advocate for them. People know me for my dedication and my desire to ensure their needs are met, beyond just the financial aspect of the transaction.
I’m also proud to be featured on VeteranPCS.com, which offers incredible opportunities for military families. The website helps military families through the process of buying and selling homes, and they give back to the military community. I also love working with local SCAD students to help them build their portfolios and get their names out there. I currently collaborate with photography and art students, giving them hands-on opportunities to gain real-world experience through listing photos during the process, and even gifting family photography sessions and paintings of the homes or families as closing gifts.
Ultimately, I want people to know that my primary focus is always on my clients. I’m here to support them every step of the way, whether they’re buying, selling, or transitioning to a new chapter in life. My goal is to provide them with a memorable experience that makes them feel cared for, valued, and supported.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success isn’t about fancy titles or endless achievements. It’s about the relationships and positive impressions you leave along the way. Not everyone will love me, and that’s okay, but if at the end of my life, I’m known as someone who made people feel seen, valued, and helped them in some way, then I’ve truly succeeded.
