Exploring Life & Business with Emily Polonus

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Emily Polonus.

Emily Polonus

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From a young age, I’ve been drawn to being a helper. As a second grader, I aspired to be an eye doctor, keen on helping people see. Little did I know, this aspiration foreshadowed my future in a deeper sense: guiding others to perceive their inner selves and the world through a soulful and physical lens.

This early inclination set me on a path that has intertwined various fields, culminating in a holistic approach to life and wellness. I was taken to many Grateful Dead shows as a child, where I developed a sensitivity to energy, an appreciation for kind and eclectic humans, and later, a fascination with altered states of consciousness.

This led me to study psychology, which I believed, at the time, held the keys to understanding human emotions and behavior.

In 1997, I had a revelatory moment in the basement of the psychology lab, training pigeons to peck at keys for food, and I knew that there had to be more out there to explore. That summer, I embarked on a cross-country adventure with a bunch of soulmate friends and immersed myself in the majesty of Glacier National Park.

When I returned, I switched my focus of study to Geography. This new direction expanded my perspective, linking human behavior with our physical environment. And I have always loved maps… and the window seat, had a good sense of direction and spatial reasoning, so why not?
My degree in Geography was more than academic fascination with the study of the Earth; it represented a journey through the interconnectedness of human and environmental dynamics.

During my last year at Georgia Southern, my dad died of brain cancer a week before my 21st birthday. I have to say that changed me and my relationship to the physical and spiritual realms. His change of form had a tremendous impact on my trajectory and passion for emotional health and healing. He was 47 when he passed, and I turn 46 this year, so that’s been on my mind more than ever lately.

Despite a successful 13-year career as a Geographic Information Systems Analyst, a deeper calling beckoned. I longed for a connection that transcended mind and space – a connection to the soul. Confined office spaces aren’t for me. This realization propelled me into a journey of self-healing that included a transformative three-month sabbatical in Thailand and Bali, training in Thai Massage, and delving deeper into daily meditation and understanding the inner workings of the mind.

My immersion into receiving regular acupuncture treatments, training in massage therapy, yoga, meditation, and the transformative world of doTERRA essential oils opened new dimensions of wellness and healing. These practices, coupled with over 17 years of experience in massage therapy and a decade in yoga teaching, honed my ability to listen with my hands and sense with my heart.

Sharing and teaching the power of the essential oils of plants along with transformational coaching emerged as a natural progression of my path, synthesizing my experiences in geography, massage, yoga and my love of nature.

I love guiding others on their paths of self-discovery and healing. The depth of connection I can offer is a reflection of my own introspective journey and the essential oils are my favorite tools for transformation.

Throughout my life and career, I’ve been known by many titles – daughter, sister, friend, aunt, GIS Analyst, Cartogropher, Massage Therapist, Bodyworker, Yoga Teacher, Meditation Guide, Wellness Advocate, Mindset Coach, Soul Ninja, Consciousness Catalyst, Medicine Woman…. (What I really want to identify with is the love and abundance that I am).

The title matters less than the mission: to be love and a steady mirror for laying down tracks leading to new ways of being. To help you see yourself more clearly, to shift the patterns of energy you hold that are not you, to deeply connect with your true nature and the present moment. That’s the essence of soulful selfcare.

My story weaves a unique tapestry of disciplines and experiences, each thread a step towards a profound understanding of ourselves and our world.

It’s about transformation, growth, and expanding awareness to true consciousness and holistic abundance. Looking at my life to this point, I am humbled and in absolute awe at what I’ve seen, felt and continue to understand. And at the same time I have no idea what is going on.
The more I learn and evolve, the more I marvel at the vastness of the unknown. I find great freedom in uncertainty. Still, I’m committed to staying with myself, remaining fascinated with healing, growing, and learning to exist as both spirit and body in this extraordinarily wild time to be a human.

I’m radically grateful. Happy to be here now.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The topography of healing is no joke. Traversing the rugged terrains of trauma, loss, grief, financial wounds, bankruptcy, family betrayal, divorce, heartbreak, and unworthiness has been anything but smooth. I’ve gotten my ass kicked from the inside out. And my life is magical, all in the same breath. I see the blessings and privileges in my life, so I don’t take those for granted.

I’ve been so loved and supported in so many ways that in the grand scheme, I’ve been great – even when I’ve been in the thick of it, literally feeling like I was dying and losing my mind. I’ve become quite comfortable with paradox.

I know that it’s within the challenging landscapes that I’ve found the true essence of growth and transformation.

Like navigating through uncharted territories, each of these experiences, no matter how tough, has been instrumental in shaping who I am today.

As you know, we’re big fans of Emily Polonus, Holistic Wellbeing Coach, Teacher, Guide, Consciousness Catalyst. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I’ve recently dubbed my personal brand HolSol. It is a beacon of holistic wellness, abundance, and transformation. At its core, it embodies the synthesis of mind, body, and soul wellness practices, seamlessly integrating various healing modalities to offer a unique and comprehensive approach to personal growth and wellbeing. (Hol Sol is an app that I am currently building to house my online offerings, education, and courses… stay tuned).

As a passionate Wellness Advocate partnering with doTERRA, I specialize in a multifaceted approach to healing.

This includes expertise in massage therapy, yoga, and the transformative use of doTERRA essential oils. What sets HolSol apart is its emphasis on the inner nature of these practices, using them not just for physical wellness but as tools for energetic transformation and healing. Using doTERRA sets me apart because these oils are the most pure and potent essential oils on the planet.

The company has a true heart and soul-centered on service and is backed by an awesome science and medical team. What I love most about their work in the world is their sourcing practices and how they use their global supply chain to elevate entire communities.

My work as a Wellness Advocate is deeply rooted in the belief that true health encompasses more than just the physical aspect; it’s about nurturing the whole person- mind, body, and soul.

This holistic perspective is what I’m known for. It reflects in every aspect of HolSol – from individual coaching sessions to group workshops and online programs.

I take pride in being a guide for those who are self-healers and seekers, providing a journey towards healing, self-discovery, worthiness and empowerment.

My brand is synonymous with my heart, authenticity, resilience, and profound transformation.

It’s about awakening the inherent abundance and simplicity within each of us, empowering women in business, especially, to unlock their potential for deep healing and transformation, and balancing inner serenity with outer success.

What I want readers to know about HolSol – it’s a movement towards conscious living and holistic abundance.

My offerings are designed to create lasting transformation.

Whether it’s through personalized wellness plans with doTERRA’s beautiful oils and products, transformative coaching, or empowering yoga and mindful meditation sessions, every aspect of HolSol is dedicated to helping individuals reconnect with their inner strength, inherent worthiness, abundance, and wisdom.

In summary, HolSol stands out due to its integrated approach, my journey of transformation and love of essential oils that inspires its ethos, and its commitment to empowering others to live fulfilling, bright, and balanced lives.

I am most proud of my ability to weave my lived experiences together to offer tools and teachings that bring about real, tangible changes in the lives of those I work with, guiding them toward a path of holistic wellness and abundant, soulful living.

What’s next?
I am on a path of exponential growth at the moment. And I feel more relaxed in my own being than ever. I’ll never stop learning, because I love the pursuit of it and connecting dots. I believe anything is possible.

I am currently obtaining Licensure to be a Master Facilitator in a healing modality that combines acupuncture points with essential oils called Aroma Point Therapy; I’m building an app called HolSol to be a digital hub of online offerings; I am continuing to grow and expand my doTERRA business to help more people realize the benefits of an essential oil-based lifestyle and business and continuing to up my game with the coaching and transformation work.  Helping heal wounds of lack, unworthiness and healing relationships w/ money and possibility are all areas I’m fascinated upon at the moment.

My clients are amazing humans, and I am so blessed to work with them.

My next group program Activate Your Authenticity begins April 12th and is open to 8 souls ready to let go of who they think they are supposed to be and embracing who they truly are. emilypolonus.com/beauthentic
