Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Gearhart.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got into this line of work early on, just being hands-on and learning how to fix things the right way. Over the years, I worked in property maintenance, especially around the coast, dealing with everything from quick turnarounds in vacation rentals to larger repairs that couldn’t be cut short or done halfway.
Working in places like St. Simons Island, you see both sides of it—high-end homes, but also a lot of rushed or shortcut work behind the scenes. That stuck with me. I built my business around doing things the way they should be done the first time, even if it takes a little longer.
I started Gearhart Home Repair LLC to give homeowners and property owners something reliable—someone they can call who shows up, communicates, and handles the job right without cutting corners. Whether it’s a small repair or a full remodel, the goal is the same: solid, clean work that holds up.
Today, most of my work comes from repeat clients and referrals around Brunswick and St. Simons. That’s probably what I’m most proud of. In this line of work, your reputation is everything, especially in a tight-knit coastal community. I treat every job like it’s my name on it—because it is.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting out, one of the biggest challenges was building trust and getting my name out there, especially in areas like St. Simons where people expect a high level of quality and reliability.
Another challenge has been dealing with work that wasn’t done right the first time. A lot of what I run into is fixing or redoing jobs that were rushed or cut short, and that can be tough because you’re not starting from a clean slate. It’s taught me to be very detail-oriented and to communicate clearly with clients about what it takes to do things properly.
Like most small businesses, there’s also the balancing side—managing schedules, materials, and customer expectations while still being the one on the job doing the work. Early on, that can stretch you thin, but it forces you to get organized and stay consistent.
Overall, those challenges have shaped how I run my business today. I focus a lot on communication, setting clear expectations, and making sure the work is done right the first time. In this line of work, your reputation follows you, especially in a coastal community like ours, so every job matters.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Gearhart Home Repair Llc?
Gearhart Home Repair LLC is a residential repair and remodeling company based out of Brunswick, serving homeowners and property owners throughout the coastal area, including St. Simons Island. We handle a wide range of work from smaller repairs and maintenance to full remodels, with a strong focus on quality and reliability.
A big part of what we do is working on coastal homes and vacation properties, where things need to not only look good but also hold up to the environment. We’re used to fast turnarounds when needed, but we don’t sacrifice quality to get there.
What sets us apart is how we approach the work. A lot of jobs we come across involve fixing things that weren’t done right the first time, so we focus heavily on doing it correctly from the start. That means clear communication, solid craftsmanship, and no shortcuts. We treat every project like it’s our name on it—because it is.
We’re known for being dependable and easy to work with. Most of our business comes from repeat clients and referrals, which says a lot in a smaller coastal community. People want someone they can trust to show up, be honest about what needs to be done, and follow through.
What I’m most proud of is the reputation we’ve built. At the end of the day, this business is about trust. Whether it’s a simple repair or a full renovation, the goal is always the same: deliver clean, lasting work and leave the customer confident they made the right call.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
At the end of the day, I just want people to know that there are still contractors out there who take pride in their work and stand behind it. In a place like this, your name travels fast, so doing things right matters.
I’ve built my business on being reliable, straightforward, and consistent. No shortcuts, no guesswork—just honest work done the way it should be. Whether it’s a small repair or a larger project, I want every customer to feel like they made the right call.
