Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Ofosuhemaa Jones.
Hi Sandra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Statesboro in 2017 to pursue my undergraduate degree at Georgia Southern University. During my final year, I met my husband, and after completing my Master’s degree in Public Health, we were married in 2022. Shortly after beginning my doctoral program, we learned we were expecting our first child following my second semester. Despite the challenges of pregnancy and the early stages of motherhood, I was determined to press forward and complete my degree.
Soon after, we found ourselves pregnant again. Instead of taking the much-needed break, I remained committed to finishing my doctorate while raising two children under the age of two. In the spring of 2025, during an already full season of life, I felt God placing ideas on my heart to start a small business. My husband and I trusted Him and took a leap of faith to launch our soft play business. Remarkably, God aligned everything so quickly—what typically takes months of waiting for products and equipment came together in a matter of days.
Since starting our business, we have been intentional about building a foundation rooted in Christ as we serve our community. As the only soft play business in Statesboro and the surrounding area, we quickly gained traction. Throughout this journey, we continued to navigate parenthood and academics together. On December 17, we had the joy of walking across the stage side by side—me earning my Doctorate in Public Health and my husband earning his Master of Arts in Social Science.
We give God all the glory for sustaining us through such a full and demanding season and for granting us the endurance to see it through.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The main challenge I faced was balancing motherhood while earning a doctoral degree. There were many sleepless nights—not only caring for a newborn, but also writing papers and meeting academic deadlines. I often found myself having to lean heavily on God for strength to continue, as the road to completion felt so far away. At the same time, I was navigating the learning curve of motherhood—first with one child, and then soon after with two children so young.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The greatest lesson I’ve learned along the way is that trusting God and walking by faith, especially when things don’t make sense or seem impossible, is the most worthwhile step you can take. Seeking Christ first makes the journey and its challenges more bearable, because He is the one who gives us the strength to persevere.
