Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Swinton.
Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into the notary world started in a place many wouldn’t expect — a government office. While working with a local agency, I was encouraged to become a notary to support internal documentation needs. At the time, I saw it as just another task to help my team. But what began as a functional responsibility soon revealed a much deeper purpose. I found myself drawn to the structure, the importance of the documents I was handling, and the trust placed in me during each notarization.
After several years, I realized that this wasn’t just a side duty — it was a skill set I could build a business around. That’s when the spark of entrepreneurship took hold, and Prestige Notary Solutions was born. Even though I became a commissioned Notary Public in South Carolina back in 2016, it wasn’t until 2023 that I made the bold decision to fully lean into my calling, expanding my services and becoming commissioned in Georgia in 2024.
Today, Prestige Notary Solutions is a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) built on professionalism, discretion, and dependability. We provide trusted mobile notarial services across Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties in Georgia, and six counties in South Carolina, including Beaufort, Charleston, and Jasper. I specialize in working with individuals, attorneys, real estate professionals, and financial institutions, handling everything from estate planning to real estate closings — all with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compassion.
At the heart of my work is a genuine love for serving people, making complex or high-pressure paperwork moments feel smooth, secure, and supported.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say the road has been entirely smooth, but it hasn’t been full of potholes either. It’s been more like a winding backroad: moments of clarity, stretches of uncertainty, and a few sharp turns that taught me a lot along the way.
One of my biggest struggles has been internal: learning to bet on myself. I’ve never been much of a risk-taker, and entrepreneurship demands that you get comfortable with the unknown. Starting a business, especially one rooted in service and trust like notarial work, requires more than just skill — it takes faith, strategy, and constant self-reassurance.
Early on, I learned a hard but humbling lesson about attention to detail. After completing a notary assignment, I realized too late that I hadn’t fully read the instructions. The signer had used black ink, but the documents clearly stated they needed to be signed in blue. I panicked. It was over 50 pages, and I was mortified at the thought of having to ask them to redo everything. But when I returned, the signer was incredibly understanding and kind, and we corrected the issue without any drama. That moment taught me two things: always triple-check the details, and that grace, whether from others or myself, is part of the journey.
So no, it hasn’t always been smooth. But each bump has made me a better business owner, a sharper notary, and a more confident woman behind the brand.
We’ve been impressed with Prestige Notary Solutions, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Prestige Notary Solutions, we do more than just notarize documents. We provide peace of mind during some of life’s most important moments. Whether you’re closing on a home, finalizing estate plans, or navigating legal paperwork, our goal is to make the process smooth, secure, and stress-free.
We proudly serve six counties in South Carolina: Allendale, Beaufort, Charleston, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper, along with three counties in Georgia: Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty. As a mobile notary service, we bring professionalism to your doorstep, offering convenience without compromising quality.
We specialize in working with individuals, law firms, real estate professionals, and financial institutions. Our most requested services include general notarizations, loan signings and real estate closings, legal affidavits, power of attorney documents, and more. Clients rely on us for our attention to detail, confidentiality, and consistency, especially when time is of the essence.
What truly sets Prestige Notary Solutions apart is the combination of real-world experience and genuine care. With a background supporting legal and government agencies, I’ve developed a strong sense of accountability and precision. I understand how critical each signature can be, and that behind every form is a real person counting on us to get it right.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built in the communities we serve. As a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Prestige Notary Solutions was founded on the principles of excellence, integrity, and accessibility. We’re not just filling out forms; we’re showing up for people when it matters most.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s this: we don’t just stamp, we support. And we’re honored to be part of your milestones.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I believe luck has shown up in small, unexpected ways, but it’s always met me where preparation and faith were already doing the work.
There have been moments where timing aligned perfectly: a referral I didn’t see coming, a client who needed exactly what I offered, or an opportunity that opened just when I started doubting myself. But I also know those moments wouldn’t have meant anything if I hadn’t already been building a solid foundation behind the scenes. That includes everything from studying the notarial process in-depth to showing up for signings on time, prepared, and with professionalism.
On the flip side, I’ve had my share of setbacks — what some might call “bad luck.” A client rescheduled last minute, an appointment that didn’t go as planned, or a missed opportunity I thought was mine. But I’ve learned that those moments are often redirections, not dead ends.
So yes, luck has played a role. But I’ve found that preparation creates opportunities, and faith gives you the courage to walk through them. I stay ready, so if luck decides to show up, I can meet it with open hands and a clear purpose.
