Today we’d like to introduce you to Ty White-Johnson.
Hi Ty, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always had a desire to help people and people have most oftentimes felt comfortable sharing their darkest secrets with me without judgment. It seemed only second nature to go into the field of counseling. I have worked in various settings such as substance abuse, juvenile justice system, school system, maternal mental health, domestic violence, higher education, and private practice just to name a few.
However, my passion is maternal mental health. After having my own children and being a NICU mom of a 10-week premature baby, I find it helpful and rewarding to support women who are new moms or soon-to-be moms. It is my passion to see people weather storms and walk with them through life’s toughest seasons and see them gain victory.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, it is not always a smooth road, I don’t know anything in life that is a smooth road. But anything worth having is worth fighting for and sacrificing for. Working with clients that are not ready for change, I just give them time, love, and patience.
As you know, we’re big fans of Refocus Counseling and Consulting Services LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
