Hidden Gems: Meet Brandi Lane of LANÉ Makeup Artistry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Lane.

Hi Brandi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up the youngest of three sisters, I have always had a passion for beauty. My first love was makeup and from a young age, I was determined to take part in the beauty industry. Throughout high school and college, I was always the go-to when my friends needed their makeup done for every special event.

I would sit for hours watching Youtube videos and practicing a variety of different looks. When I moved to Savannah in 2021, I met an incredible woman named Sheena Holmes who is actually a makeup artist herself. She took me under her wing and invited me to assist her with a bridal party. When the bride came up to me and asked if I could do her makeup, it was a huge compliment.

After that day, Sheena told me to “go be great!” I created my business the next day. Soon after, I was getting referrals and inquiries one after another and it gave me the courage to go for it. I got on The Knot and business took off. I was announced as one of The Knot’s Best of Weddings winners for 2022.

Being a makeup artist is such a fun and fulfilling job for me. Helping people feel beautiful and watching their faces light up when I show them the final look is so rewarding. I love getting feedback from brides telling me how beautiful they felt on their special day.

LANÉ Makeup Artistry is a one-woman show for now, but I am excited to eventually create an amazing team. I am determined to continue learning and growing as an artist while helping women feel beautiful and empowered. I am excited to share my talent for luxurious, personalized beauty with those around me.

LANÉ Makeup Artistry is here to bring your version of beauty to life. I am so excited to see where I will be in the next few years.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say that it definitely isn’t easy starting your own business from scratch.

I had no idea where to start and did a lot of research in the beginning. It has been pretty smooth for me because of the other stylists in the community.

Everyone is so willing to help and give great advice.

As you know, we’re big fans of LANÉ Makeup Artistry. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am the owner of LANÉ Makeup Artistry and I am a travel Makeup Artist. I specialize in Special events and Wedding Makeup. I am based in Savannah, GA but am open to traveling all of Georgia & North Florida. I am known for a beautiful glam makeup look!

I absolutely love a smoky shadow, winged eyeliner, and bold lashes. I love makeup to pop and stand out! I’d say what sets me apart from others is making people feel at home and confident throughout the entire experience. I love to share knowledge and teach as I go so my clients can create a look they love on their own.

I absolutely love making others feel as beautiful as they are. I want to give others the confidence to achieve their goals and know that they can do anything they set their minds to.

So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
The most important part to me is watching how attitudes change after they get dolled up.

Some women have never been introduced to makeup or didn’t have an older sister to teach them along the way. I love to see how happy my clients are when they leave my chair and I hope that confidence lasts even after the night is over.

It feels so good to be pampered and I realized that some people have never experienced that. If I can make someone feel their absolute best for even just one night, I’m happy.
