Hidden Gems: Meet Fanny Chase of CHASEGOLF Travel LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fanny Chase.

Hi Fanny , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started when I met Joey, a golf course shaper and designer, in Bermuda 15 years ago. He was then in the process of a major renovation at Port Royal GC and I fell madly in love with him while he introduced me to the game of golf. I knew nothing, absolutely nothing about golf and our first date was a round of golf at a nearby course. How intimidating when you want to look your best. A year later, we moved to Europe together for a golf course construction project and we started traveling within Europe.

I knew I did not want to become a golf widow

I wanted to travel the world with him while he could play the best golf courses in the world. Intrigued and challenged, I was a French citizen who had lived in Europe all my life prior to our introduction in Bermuda, but the recurring question was… what would I do when he plays a 4 or 5-hour round of golf?

I got creative over the years and always found some interesting sites and things to explore on my own. As a non-golfer, I was alone, most of the time in remote places in a foreign country and I had no idea of what I would find out there but in the end, these experiences alongside my husband’s tee-times were truly awesome. We explored many European countries while playing off-the-beaten path golf courses and these golf aventures made us stronger as a couple, uniting our friendship forever. I later became a golfer myself and was able to play with him and share a similar passion for golf courses and golf architecture. I eventually worked as a Head Club Secretary at Switzerland’s top course and was honored to be part of the small team at the International Golf Federation (IGF) to bring the game of golf back to the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016.

Today, we are a small team of golf travel designers, specializing in European golf courses and golf destinations, including the British Isles and Continental Europe’s best golf experiences. We have dedicated our lives to playing golf courses all over Europe and to working in the golf industry in several capacities for more than 30 years. We aim to maximize your time with the best experiences on and off the greens and create unique tailor-made golf itineraries in Europe”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a solopreneur building the company from the ground up, the main struggles were building my clientele, how I could communicate my expertise to the right target audience, and also how to spread the word among avid US golfers.

We’ve been impressed with CHASEGOLF Travel LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love wandering around Jones Street, the squares with those magnificent fountains, the church and I also love the waterfront area, especially during the Christmas holidays.

As a French citizen and now American too, I love Savannah because It has the charm of old European cities and It reminds me so much of charming, quaint seaside villages that have the discovery of the world/pirate history.

Nothing that I really dislike here, It always feel good to be there.
